Free Kinect Adapter?

Hello Everyone!

I was aware of a promotion that Microsoft had recently of receiving an free Kinect Adapter for those who upgraded from the original Xbox One to the "S" model. Honestly, I passed on the "S" model in favor of the then "Project Scorpio". Will the free adapter
promotion be extended to those who waited a little bit longer to get the Xbox One X?

This was only a limited time offer for users who updated from an Xbox One to an Xbox One S that has now ended Microsoft have made no announcement yet on if they will be offering the Kinect Adapter again for people who are updating from the Xbox One to Xbox
One X. Hopefully this offer will be getting repeated but we probably will not hear anything until closer to release.

Actually i also bought an S but i used to have it at my girlfriend's, so i didnt pay attention to the free adapter initiative when it came out, not having a kinect there.

But now i'll upgrade from my D1 "fat" Xbox to the Xbox X Scorpio and i'd really like to keep Kinect working with the new console.

I definitely expect that Microsoft will have a similar time-limited initiative for Xbox Scorpio / X buyers !!

 

From what I have been reading on other web sites it sounds like they will not be repeating the offer with Xbox One X.

 

There was SUPPOSED to be a kinect port. That was what was advertised. Not sure if this was the Scorpio edition, or the mass produced Xbox One X edition. However, I can say (because I picked mine up last night that there is NO kinect port on the back, and
with the limited time "free adapter upgrade" they had with the Xbox One S having ended, the only option I have run across was an additional purchase of an adapter. Seems I've saved my kinect to collect dust until I can afford an adapter myself. Doesn't seem
fair that I have to pay SO MUCH more for upgrading. Guess this isn't considered "false advertising" if it's on the Xbox One X versions. We "Scorpio" owners have to pay more for the privilege of using a peripheral that was already paid additionally for. [Poor
marketing, and bait and switch tactics if you ask me.]

 

This is a big fat no from Microsoft. I just contacted support and they said I need to buy an adapter. False advertisement if you ask me. They said it will work with no adapters needed. This is just the wrong direction for Microsoft to be going :Remember
this advertisement Microsoft? If there was ever a need for a class action lawsuit this may be one. Lawyers anyone?

Believe me this is also not on the X Version of the console. Microsoft advertised no adapters. Guess this is where the future of Microsoft is headed..

Support told me they can't even offer to sell me one, and with some of the physical issues I have I honestly need it as I use voice control more than the controllers or remote due to problems keeping them in my hands when I have my bad muscle tremors/spasms.

 

It is possible to use Cortana voice commands via a headset with microphone when it's connected to the controller as well now.
