Free Gold Weekend

I saw today that this weekend will be a Free Gold Weekend, so I started up Destiny and I am still unable to do anything Gold related. Any information as to why?

You are not alone, and Microsoft had no answer after a 2 hour discussion. No information from Bungie, either...

 

Gold weekends last I checked this only affects 360 and onlyon some games not all modes are supported

 

Are you trying to do competitive PvP? If so then no given bungies history only non ranked multmultiplayer is supported

 

I'm on the Xbox 360. I've tried joining friend's Fireteams, playing in the Crucible, The Iron Banner, etc. I do know that Destiny is one of the games included in the Free Gold Weekend.

 

I'd like an answer to this as well. I have gold but a friend rented the game to try for the weekend and it will not work. I understand Destiny doesn't work with free trials but this isn't a free trial. Xbox.com even states that you can play Destiny with
this free weekend because EVERY account is gold for 3 days.

If destiny doesn't work with trials or certain modes aren't available on trials then the same will applapply on free gold weekends

 

It isn't gold for 3 days you get a trial not full paid gold

you need full paid gold for full gold benefits

 

You just don't add a trial code

 

It was there earlier today. I checked it early this morning. Destiny was on the page. It was also showing on the Xbox when I clicked on the Free Gold Weekend advertisement. It has now been replaced with Forza Horizon 3.

Bone-headed move to advertise Destinty strikes, Crucible, etc., when it's not part of the free weekend of Gold.
