Free gold trial

ok this month they are giving away halo reach for free. My account expired and i used a 2 day free gold trial to get halo reach. But when i go to games with gold it says i need to be a gold member which i just entered a code which gave me 2 days of gold.
After this i checked the game on the games search and it says its 24.99 when its supposed to be free. Please someone help.

For anyone who has a Gold membership with Xbox Live, have you seen these coupon offers? Supposedly, you can either get Xbox free or get a free trial offer for as long as one year. There might be a catch, but maybe they're just doing it to promote the Gold membership. Has anyone ever gotten a free trial?

This may be as to why you cannot download it as you must be a Current Paid Gold member and not just a free 48 hour pass for gold member. If you were to go ahead and get a 3 Month or 12 Month Gold then you would be able to download it.
