free games with gold?

Why is there no mention that D4 is just a demo in the supposed free games for gold? I never bothered with xbox gold free games on the One because its just been rubbish andI'm wary about things claiming to be free but I really fancied this D4 only to get
to get to a good part only for the game to stop claiming that was season one. So what now, I'm suppose to buy the full game. Honestly what is the point claiming free games when they are either old 8 bit spectrum games and demos? ( those on the 360 get decent
games) This is suppose to be the top of gaming tech why would I want to play old platform games and why claim a demo is a free game. demo's are always free. It's an excellent example of Microsoft marketing though.

Definitely not part of Games With Gold promotions.

Seems like that game was posted as free by mistake. I saw it last night too. But it was never on the schedule to be free this month as far as I know.

 

That's all you get. I bought it when it was released for €14.99. Myself and everyone else who bought it have just as much content as you. I am still eagerly awaiting the next chapter. It's an episodic game. It is anything but a demo.

 

Ya I thought about downloading it myself until I realized it was only a demo. Sadly when it comes to giving free games, Microsoft only seems to give out the crappiest games they have in their inventory. I like xbox much more than playstation for a few reasons,
but one thing Sony has over microsoft, is they actually give out full games for free With no catch. I've always hated xboxs "Free games" they're nothing but BS that no one wants to even touch yet they seem to pride themselves on their free games like their
doing the gaming community a favor. Probably one of my biggest gripes about xbox live is how they push marketting for their free games but don't offer anything anyone would actually want to play. I was so happy when they put up sunset overdrive for free, then
found out it was only for a day. Thank you xbox....

 

@twerp,Did you bother to read brandiesel`s post, or did you just go straight to the ranting??

You have at least 3 games on your list that you bought or at least played, that were later given away on the games for gold programme.

If they were games no one would ever want to play, why did you buy them????

 

@Twerp..You must be new to the GWG program because The Witcher2, Assassin's Creed 2, Darksiders 2, Hitman:Absolution and a whole list more are excellent free games that i and many have gotten on the GWG program.

I'm also glad you mentioned the "catch free" PSN free games as you are never given free games you are renting those games..kinda think of it like Netflix as you don't pay you don't watch movies. You lose plus you don't play those games until plus again..now
if i go silver i am still able to play every GWG game i have downloaded and lose nothing.

 

Amen on The Witcher 2. I bought the Enhanced Edition for 20$ in June and has become one of my most favorite RPGs in my collection. Most of the games I've collected through GWG have been amazing additions to my collection.

 

No, I'm not new to GWG. Do you play on xbox one or just 360? Because since the release of the One, not a single full length game has been released. Also, some games that they said were free, have only been demos or pay to play games. And, just because I
have games in my library that have been free on live, doesnt mean I got them when they were free or that I paid for them at all, nice thing about disc based games is that you can borrow games =)

@Twerp..Hi there, I play on both but new to One since Christmas so i have only been around since D4 was free. I didn't know you were talking about One only as i read your post and it didn't differentiate but i would say give them some time to build up a
decent game base on the One and you'll start seeing more full games in the GWG One version.

Me personally i think they should have held off on the One GWG for awhile until they felt strong about it but i have enjoyed D4 a lot and still thinking about picking up Worms lol..it might be slow for awhile Twerp but try to give it some time and see how
it goes.

 

@YellowJacketLE my bad. I should have specified and said on the One. They do have more full length games on the 360, but I haven't played the 360 since the One came out and it just sucks that the only full game they put up for free was sunset overdrive and
it was only for a day. And not was it only free to download for one day, but that was also the only day you could play it if you downloaded it. I just think in over a year they could have at least released one of their exclusives for free by now. Games such
as Ryse Son of Rome or Dead Rising 3 that have been out since the launch.

 

^^ They've put both of those games up for massive deals. If you really wanted to play them, you should have picked them up when they were like 10-20 bucks.

 

Loved my 360, love my Xbox One now, but if there's a game i want cheaper i always turn to my PC and fire up Steam.

 

So this is the the way the game was received in the first place, that's a bit of a downer but it does appear to play like a demo leaving you at a point where things start to get interesting. It is like playing the original Halflife only for TO BE CONTINUED
to appear once Gorden leaves the test chamber. I think the 360 has had some awesome games for free I'm even enjoying the latest sniper game be it a little unresponsive. But nothing for the xbox one, I'd rather Microsoft held back than the current run of Jet
Set Willy, Manic Miner type 8 bit games from the 80s. Besides if Microsoft insists on this 8 bit route for the one on free gold why not revamp some of genius stuff from that era like Acadamy, Tau Ceti, Micronaught One, Mercenary, which would certainly not
disappoint. thanks for the responses.
