Free Games with Gold. Xbox One

id like forza or ryse - but then people who have them would complain - you simply cannot please everyone

 

You certainly cant please everyone but unless they have some very good contracts, I cant see how they would give anything away that wasn't indie made. Not that its a bad thing, but like Messiah says, we will just have to roll on for E3.

 

I hope they do allow us to choose, although if they done Ryse and DR3 I'd be totally stuck... I think a full retail and an indie game per month would be awesome. As mentioned this will almost certainly be announced at E3.

 

Well with the rumor of one retail and one of a choice of 2 digital per month for the GWG1.. be prepared for tons of indie games. But with a limited number of games total for the XB1, I will be surprised it comes anytime before Fall.

 

You do get to choose from the one or two they offer if you don't like them don't download them

 

GwG1 could have already started if MS had dropped the parity clause keeping developers from releasing tons of great indie titles on the XB1.

 

I reckon it will be indie games, Why we haven't seen any yet on XB1.

 

I think we do not see any indie games as the X was most likely not due out till this year...so there is a year gap for that... also the changes made from the original DRM policies etc... it is possible some games might have had to re worked on...and redone...
remember indie games are made by small groups of people.. that do not have an unlimited budget like the main devs... so even smaller changes might take MUCH longer....

 

I'm personally hoping that xb1 GwG is delivered in a similar fashion to ps plus. I am sure giving the games away entirely for free apart from subscription is the primary reason the games we get for 360 are mostly pretty old. I doubt publishers are willing
to give recent games away no strings attached.

 

At E3 it will likely be unveiled.... My guess available for download immediately... My guess for first game is killer within..... Followed by loco cycle.... Haha

 

I think E3 as well. The actual page on here last time I checked said later this year but I'm not sure when that was last updated.

I had the PS4 for a week before trading it in for the X1 a few weeks ago and I had like 8 free games (some were more like demos, like the Pinball game). There were a few games I liked so even though both PS4 and X1 are new Microsoft is behind with free games
(maybe due to that parity clause). Some of the free games were PS Plus (3 or 4 games) and some were just free w/ cash shop (Blacklight: Retribution & DC Universe Online). They were entertaining enough to be time fillers while waiting for new games to release.

 

I don't think killer and loco would be a bad prediction. That seems quite likely but I think if they have put a lot of thought into it, they may not want to do something that may be considered predictable. Its something I am looking forward to the most for
E3.

 

I don't like to invest in the the thought that GWG is coming miraculously at E3. I hope so but what is to offer? There have been too little games, unless the offers are indie I.e. Sony offers. Unless they made some ironclad deals... We'll know come E3. Till
then all is speculative.

 

Tbh . The ps+ games on the Ps3 are top notch .... on Ps4 .....are .....Dire .

I would rather have a 56k chess or word game .. a quick blast time filler ..

If you played some of the " indie " games available on Ps4 ,,,.. you would know what I mean ,

However , I think the free to play games , warframe and blacklight are excellent , ..and I play them as much as full retail games.

 

I agree, warframe and black light are great games. Other offerings on PS4 aren't the best. Old ports. If that is what MS offers then I can hear the Whiney battle cry now. Old ports are not likely to matter. Free games is great in any case. There's just
hardly any to offer on X1, or ps4 for that matter. Old PC games are cool, but not a game changer...ps3 free games are top notch. I agree...
