Free Games with Gold problem.

I was hoping to download Thief. I accessed from the store because the usual tile doesn't work for sending reason. I get to the page and click on it and it asked me to put in a credit card for a free game. I don't remember being asked for it in the past.
Can someone give me an explanation to this. Is anybody else having this problem.

Free games with gold problem.

I am using a European Xbox purchased in the UK that I have brought to Canada. The region has been changed to Canada approximately 8 months ago or so.

When I try and download the game it says that the disc region is not available in your area. I have tried to download via the pc and I get: "this downloadable content is not available in your region"

I have been able to download and play it if i log into a friends Canadian xbox. This then allows me to download it to my European Xbox, but once complete and I press "play now" I get the error message: The discs region code is incorrect.

Any solutions? Thanks!

ps. I have been able to downoad alllll of the other free with gold games...asssasins creed,,,halo fable etc.... with no problem

Hey mate,

Yeah that is normal for game purchases through the website, even if they are free games. To avoid that, you either need to get it through the console (once the tile starts working) or through the SmartGlass app both of those options avoid the need for
you to enter your credit card details

Just to confirm, you won't actually be charged if you do enter your credit card details and purchase it through the site

When I meant that I tried to purchase it from the store I meant from the store section from the console. Sorry if I wasn't specific. I'll try to access it again and see if that works, and thanks for the help.

No problems sometimes there are just delays on them being made free, and those delays can vary depending on the region your in I was able to get mine late last night, so hopefully you can now too

problems on the 360 as well have gold account but no free games showing for this month just the gold discount games

Xbox support won't know as you contacted live or hardware support

Not game support

You need to contact the game publisher

As stated by many people it is region locked and you need a matching console many games require a matching ip

Mostly triple a titles

In this case it is square Enix for game support

Karimel Romeo -- From now on start your own threads instead of hijacking others (really a poor move for an Ambassador). "Sleeping Dogs" is region locked so the version you downloaded will never work on that console. Buy a Canadian console then do a license
transfer and your problem will go away.
