Free games with Gold - Not rewarding at all

Regardless.... GWG justifies the Gold subscription, IMO...... a "$30" game is 2/3 of a Gold Membership...

 

GG No the game license you download is different from the game. In fact, if you have a physical copy installed the GWG version will over write that license. You can play without the disc at that point. But you need gold just like and GWG. If you let
gold expire you would then need to insert the disc. I know someone that let their gold expire with a situation like this. They had given their game to someone else and forgot to put in their gold card (auto-renewal off). Games would not work without the
disc since this person was no longer gold.

 

You do have a point, but I find this month's GWG quite enjoyable. I do understand that if you already have the games in question then it would tend to upset you quite a bit, but if you don't have the game and where thinking of getting it then having it for
free is great. Plus another benefit to games with gold if the game is terrible, at least you didn't waste your money.

 

Between GwG and DwG, I'm finding myself hard pressed to spend any money when a game is released.... I spent full $$ on Watch Dogs (grr), Halo, Destiny, AW... I've learned my lesson.... patience is a virtue!

 

I have always been against the program. Would rather have them reduce the price of Gold and offer a separate "subscription" fee to get random free games. Actually, I would rather have something like EA access where I can choose what games I want. However,
I would never complain about getting these games as the system is now...as I never think about paying into gold to get free games, I am paying for the service (and 40-45$ per year is a bargain for the service)

 

Prior consumer behavior doesn't make or break a service.

 

They did the right thing by separating the entertainment apps from the Gold subscription.

 

Most months I'm not interested in the free games, but that's okay because games like AC Black Flag make up for it. I buy a lot of games and I haven't played it yet. I pay for gold anyway so if I get 1 game a year that I don't have or that interests me, I'm
happy with that.

I think some people expect too much from GWG. They're not gonna offer up big blockbuster games until now but it's 2 years later.

There have been some arcade games that I didn't buy because I said I'll "wait til it's free with gold" but none of those games have ever been one of the free games. I wish I had bought those games I thought like that about.

 

As others have said GWG is not a reward, it is simply another perk for being a gold member. The only problem I have with gold is the discounts. A lot of times the same games are offered at the same time on PS4 for cheaper, that is not even taking into account
the monthly flash sales. The only other solution that I can see is offering multiple games for the community to vote on.
