Free Games With Gold - NOT FREE

I just spent way too much time trying to get a Free game, and still didn't get it for free. What is going on with MS? Customer Service has gotten to be at an all time low. If you go into a store and grab an item for, say $12.99, and at the register they
try to charge $15.99 and you brought it to their attention, what price would you expect to pay? Any person, including the employee's of the store would charge you the price marked on the item. With that being said, I understand that mistakes happen, I get
it, but at the same time I wouldn't expect anyone to pay the higher price whether I was the store owner, or the customer. Why is it so hard for MS outsourced Customer Service people to get this simple business model?

The game in question is MAX: The Curse of Brotherhood. Clearly on the Games for Gold screen it is showing up as "Free", but when trying to download, it shows it costs $14.99. After contacting customer support, I'm still without a free download because it's
not on the "free download list". I guess my eyes aren't what they used to be, because it sure looks like it's on the list on my TV.

I've had people call me arrogant in the past because I do act like I know everything from time to time and although I don't know everything, I do still know a lot and try to approach things from a practical standpoint whenever I can - I've become significantly
more humble and careful with things I say over the past few months due to past transgressions with other posters as well.

As for how much I game, it has indeed come to a point where I'm on the forums more than I game, but I do still use my Xbox consoles to play games and do other things - at least 3 hours a day if I were to put a number to it, which is a lot considering all
of the other things I make time for in my life.

Regardless of what you or anyone else thinks of me, I'm here because I enjoy it and the people I socialize with (most of the time). I also enjoy helping others whenever and wherever I can. If I end up being wrong about something, I accept that and move on
(which I admit I didn't often do in the past) rather than holding a grudge - after all, those are the worst things to have.

Sorry to hear you had this issue. However, the free games for Gold that I have got were free. As a matter of fact, I am downloading Thief at this moment and it was a free Games for Gold selection.

 

I just looked and could not find MAX: The Curse of Brotherhood free on the website. The only thing that I saw that was free was a game add on. It is D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die - Max: The Curse of Brotherhood

 

Max was part of the promotion like a year ago. If you want it now, you'll have to pay $14.99.

 

Seems like that game was posted as free by mistake. I saw it last night too. But it was never on the schedule to be free this month as far as I know.

 

It was shown as free in the UK.

However, as the game was one of the first listed with the GwG program this could have been an error.

 

I looked at Thief and when I went to it it asked me for a credit card.

 

Nomad2001, this was a problem and not an intentional offer.

The problem was highlighted on Eurogamer

Definitely not part of Games With Gold promotions.
