free games stink

I cam back to the 360 around late November time.

Since then I've joined Xbox LIVE and last week I got Brothers and The Witcher 2... for free :O

Even if I only downloaded those 2 games for the entire 12 months subscription, I've not only got what I wanted when joining live (party chat, demo downloads, sales and DLC), but I've just got 2 awesome games for free.

Yes I've seen amazing deals and giveways on PSN. But this is the 360, and at the end of the day neither of the companies are obligated to do anything for free. Its a perk, a shiny bonus, a love juiced fueled freebie.

Enjoy it. Don't complain about it. That makes you a ***.

 

I agree that most games that they give us on the ONE stink, but so do those 2 AC games.

 

The Xbox 360 had some great free games but so far I haven't been impressed with the Xbox One freebies, although at the end of the day, it's FREE and we should be happy we even get that. I'm sure they'll get better on the Xbox One once games have been out
longer, etc.

 

I agree with a poster further up that MS don't need to give us free games, however, it would be interesting to see the uptake in membership were MS to get rid of that particular incentive. It's been in place too long for MS to just take it away. Especially
due to the fact their main competitor offers a similar incentive scheme on their respective network.

Yup, the games suck more often than not, but there have been 3 games I've enjoyed that I wouldn't otherwise have given a second glance. It's part of the reason why I keep my sub active and if they took it away, I would probably not renew it as I can get
the online side of things from either my PC or PS4.

The reasons surrounding 'freebies' aren't always as black and white as some people like to paint them as. Also, on the Xbone, they aren't free, so we're not actually getting anything for free any more.

 

@Im Fushigi I think we'll get a lot of better games eventually. Remember, the Xbox One is only a little over a year old, it's still growing. In another year or two I'm sure the free games with gold will be doing solid.

 

Yeah they're not all the greatest but it does branch you out and let you try things you'd never give a second look to. Can't please everyone but there are some gems in there and as time goes on there'll be more.

These threads are ridiculous. Very simple. Download The games you want, disregard the games you don't want. We are offered a variety of games each month that are trying to hit multiple demographics. What you may not like, others do. What you like, others
may hate.

Seriously what do you was Xbox to do? Give you every new AAA title that releases each month? What a joke

 

Gift horse, mouth, etc. etc.

 

Microsoft tries very hard to please its users. There is a chance that when a game releases that you may not enjoy it. but just wait it out and hope for a different game comes out next month that you enjoy.

You could also go back and play some of your backlog! i know mine is getting to big lol

 

I have a big backlog of games to get through myself. It doesn't help that microsoft keeps releasing games I want to play, haha!

 

I have found the free games for the Xbox One to be a bit underwhelming but I take them anyway. Free is good.

 

The Arcade games are generally rubbish, the only one I've really liked is Iron Brigade

 

Said it many times, if the free games were amazing, fantastic, top rated, best selling, most popular games on the xbox one or 360, you would have bought them already and be here complaining that you already own them.
