Free games should be free to play

I wanted to start off by saying that I always liked xbox, always have always will, but there is only 1 problem that I have. Why can't a free to play game be free to play? Honestly if I knew this earlier I would've gotten a ps4 instead
of a limited edition xbox 1s only because the ps4 free to play games are truly free to play. If free to play games are 1 day free to play games on Xbox 1, I could imagine more people in those games and with more people joining those games, there would be a
rise in the amount of Dlc being brought. This is all I wanted to say, but now I'm considering switching consoles just for this reason. In my opinion though the Xbox 1 is far more superior than the ps4.

Why do you need xbox live gold to play fortnite xbox while on other platforms its 100%free to play?

Money.

I agree though, free to play games should be free to play online like they are on the competition’s console.

Let's be realistic. People that create games do that because it is a job. People have jobs to get paid to pay for things (Food, Shelter, Clothing, Etc). For the companies to pay their employees in this case to make games, the games must in turn generate
money (otherwise no one gets paid). If there is no money to be made in creating games, then there would be no paying jobs. And unless you can find a bunch of independently wealthy teams to collaborate to create games for the sheer sake of the fun of it,
you would in turn have nothing to play (and companies like Microsoft, Sony, etc wouldn't be creating consoles to play non-existent games) basically making the entire console gaming industry collapse...

 

Because, it's Xbox Live and Xbox sucks.. They charge you to play Online ON ROBLOX ON WORLD OF TANKS AND THESE GAMES ARE FREE TO PLAY ON THE PC; I CANNOT BELIEVE IT MYSELF, THAT MICROSOFT AS A COMPANY CONTINUES TO CHARGE PEOPLE $9.99 a MONTH JUST TO PLAY
OR TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS AT ALL! IT'S OUTSTANDING!

 

Terrible pick of poison, the PS4 is far more superior than the Xbox One.. The PC is better than both.. and by PC I mean a $350 build lol

 

You can always submit this kind of feedback at xboxideas.uservoice.com as for the free to play games, they are truly free to play, you just need to pay for the online service

I cant believe that Sony still charges people for using cloud saves on their console and Microsoft doesn't!!!!

 

If that is your sole reason to go to a different console - that you can bypass a paid service to play one or two games - then by all means, enjoy your new devices. The rest of us, who believe it's fair that you pay for a service that you use, will continue
to enjoy our existing devices. If you're going the "free means free" route, then you would have to talk to your ISP to tell them that you should get to use their services for free since the game says it's free to play. I wish you luck on that.

Sony and Nintendo now require their online service for online play, so while it stinks to have to pay for Live, it does ensure stable secure service.

 

I understand your concern here. I feel like the Xbox live service is more superior to PSN. I have had not issue with Paying for Xbox live from the beginning. It has provided a much better platform to play Multiplayer games. Xbox Live has also been very
innovative over the years and has evolved overtime.

I really appreciate the fact that Microsoft provides the great infrastructure, but also gives back in the form of Games with Gold.

It's because the terms of XBL, but with Gold subscription you have more than 40 free games per year and you can feel secure on your data! An hacker stolen my account a couple of years ago and Microsoft gave me back in 1 day plus all the 80 bucks of games
that the hacker spent in the store. This is what you pay for.

 

Your paying for employees to manage and maintain the servers that run Xbox live. I do understand your point of view though since we can play any game on PC and not pay to play online.
