Free gamertag change question

Is there a way to tell whether or not I chose to change the random gamertag when I first made this account?(like email and ect)

I don't remember if I did or not since it's been 6 years, I don't think I did though, which is why i'm wondering in case I can still change the gamertag for free, on the page where I change my gamertag it has "You can change it once for free." in bold,
don't know if that means anything or not, but it doesn't say I cannot change it for free anymore.

To answer your question Joey, NO there isn't a way to get a free gamertag change. Sorry

 

Your gamertag does not appear to be a system generated tag. It appears to be one that you selected.

 

Randomly generated tags are usually 2 words followed by a string of numbers. Stuff like "AngryJoey998769". Yours is definitely one you created.

 

Wasn't sure if the selected one would matter, thought of the "free change" as like, typing it out, I remember selecting a different one, so your answers kind of help.

 

To follow up with there explanations. Normally, if you create the account directly through the console, you are then allowed to choose your own gamertag. Now, the free gamertag change are for those players that created their accounts online who have been
given a random generated gamertag. That's why they are given a way to choose their desired one.
