free gamertag change if i never used it?

I was looking at changing my gamertag and saw on the site that i could change it once for free i have had the same gamertag for 4 years and never once changed it, hate it now ahha as i made it when i was younger, so i was wondering if i still can as when
i did i had to pay

You are incorrect. Back then there were NOT any free gamertag changes. I was never given a free gamertag change. All you need to do is check my account and you'll see.

No, you have used it. You used the free gamertag name change when you changed your from whatever random name you had to "DJ Squirrely". Even if you didn't change your name, you only had 30 days in which to use that free name change.
All subsequent name changes are 800MSP.

 

The free gamertag change is used when you start your account.

You get to change it from a Microsoft generated tag to a personal one for free.

Since your tag is not a Microsoft generated tag you have already used your one free change so will have to pay for any other changes.

I would like to know the answer to this too. I've been stuck with this awful tag for 9+ years.

 

The answers the same,Yours is not a generated tag so you've already had your free change.You will need to pay to change it now.

 

If I am right you have to pay if you never used it. But I don't think it's that much. I'm still using the same one LOL.

 

When you first start your account you are given a Microsoft generated tag,you can change from that tag to a personal one for free when you want,there used to be a 30 day time limit but that's been dropped.

Ant other change after that then you have to pay.

The only other time is if your tag violates the CoC,the enforcement team will change the offending tag to a generated one for free but you need to pay to change it back to a personal one.

Dan Pen 97 is not a generated tag so you have used your one free change as well.

 

When you create your account you can change your Auto generated gamertag for free within the 1st 30days of your account existance

 

The 30 day limit has been dropped now mate,you can change it when ever you want but only from a generated one to a personal one.
