Free gamertag change gone

Hi i had a free gamertag change on xbox one but now when i tried to change it its saying it will charge me $9.95?? can someone help?

You only have upto 30 days to change it for free. Once the 30 days have gone, you will need to pay in order to change your gamertag.

Yeah, but if I changed that gamertag from Mosh1mo to something else, will that make that gamertag available or forever gone? I just want my gamertag for a new console... Not the games as he can keep them.

as far as I know the free gamertag change is only available in the first 30 days of an account. And seeing your achievements you are wel passed those initial 30 days.

My guess is that the xbox one showed the free change incorrectly

 

Hey no when you buy an xbox one you get one free gamertag change and i was able to do it since i bought the xbox but i was waiting until i found a good gamertag but today when i tried it was gone and telling me to pay for it , this is seperate from the change
after making a new account ive had this account for years.

And im sure it wasnt an error since alot of other people have had free changes after buying an xbox one.

 

If you create a new account on the One you get the free change. The free change is only good for the first 30 days of the account. You will have to pay to change your name.

 

Im talking about a different thing not a new account.

That is the only way to get a free change. You only get a free change if the system has given you a randomly generated tag when you create your account. The same rules apply on the One as the 360. There is no free change just from getting a One.

Then what are you talking about? The only time you will ever be given a free name change is when you create a new account. There are no other times you will be given a free name change.

If you're talking about getting a free name change after losing another name to a forced name change, that doesn't happen any more. Once the offensive name is removed from your profile, it's automatically changed to a default
name, which you have to pay to change.
