Free Game of the Month with Gold?

I thought the whole reason they came out with this promotion was because the xbox one wasn't backwards compatible so you would still have some older games. I don't have the games i previously downloaded to my account. Nor do free games of the month even
show up for the xb1. What gives

The 360 store is set up differently from the store on the One/website. The One/website do not recognize your Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for 360 content so you have to have a credit card or Paypal on file in order to purchase 360
content, even if it's free.

So i got xbox live and this month assassins creed 3 is free on xbox one but i am not able to download the game because i dont have an active paymant ( like adding ure creditcard to xbox ) why is this a thing? i need answers

MSFT never stated it was specifically because the X1 isn't backwards compatible. If you downloaded these games at some point, you can redownload them through accessing your
download history. Instructions in the link.

 

Well you thought wrong. The Free games with Gold is for Xbox 360 ONLY.

 

games for gold is for 360.... its kind of hard to implement it for a system that only has so many games made for it. porting games that are for the 360 seems like a hassle for them just to be free. once more games are out for the one youll start seeing
games for gold take affect... its pointless as of now

Xbox One isn't backwards compatible as you know, the games you downloaded are Xbox 360 games.

 

So far what I have read is correct - Games with Gold for the 360 is only for those who kept their Xbox 360 and continue to enjoy the 2 monthly games. Also, I have a tweet here from Major Nelson that mention that details for Xbox One coming later this year

we gave the most support to Xbox team with there Xbox one, we suffer from lack of system and games and until now i feel X1 gamer can get nothing from Xbox live, nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
