Hi, I purchased my Fallout 4 copy on disk from a retailer.

 

With physical discs, the code should have been included with your disc. You would have to contact the retailer you purchased the game from to try to get the code.

 

No that it not true, we were clearly told that the download code would not be available to us until they fiished preparing Fallout 3 for backwards compatibility. They said we would get a message from xbox with the download code sometime in the future. However,
I never received a message.

 

Sorry, but it is true. The codes were only sent via message if you purchased the game digitally. Otherwise, the codes would have been included in the disc package.

 

No it is not true, I don't know who you think you are to be saying that you know. They told us that it would come via message because at the time of the release date, Fallout 3 backwards comparability was not available yet. There was NOT a code in my case
because backwards compatibility did not yet exist for the game! Do you not understand what I'm saying?

 

Codes still went out before the game became backwards compatible whether you preordered digitally or as a physical disc. It was made known that the game wouldn't work until it did become backwards compatible.

Here is an article about how to get the codes which does state you would receive the code when you received the disc copy -

Inside the case you should see a "Survival Guide" and the code should be on the back of that.
