Free Digital Destiny upgrade

If you get the digital version of Destiny on PS3/360 you can upgrade for free to next gen consoles.

Destiny Digital Download for 360 and Free upgrade to Xbox One version.

I have read on bungie site that if you buy the Xbox 360 Digital Download version you get a free upgrade to the Xbox version. Is this right and can you buy the 360 version of Destiny on the xbox.com website and still get the free upgrade to xbox one destiny.

I pre bought destiny for the xbox one before bungee announced that if you buy last gen you get next gen free. Is there a way I can fix this cause all of a sudden I fill like I'm getting ripped off.

 

If its a digital purchase no. MS doesn't typically give out refunds. But you can call Xbox Support and try. If its a physical purchase just switch to the Xbox 360 version.

 

Can someobe explain this to me. Been trying to find out how much the digital 360 version is but can't find it. Seriously considering this but is it the case of waiting for tuesday before downloading the 360 version? Reason i asks is i have it pre ordered
with amazon but if the price is right for a digital version for 360 and x1 version i will cancel the amazon order.

No. You can still play the game on the 360 and x1 as the licences are both tied to your account.

 

I have multiple family members with there own xbox live accounts sharing a xb360 and a xb1. I'd like to know if other accounts logging into either of the consoles after the upgrade will have access to the game.

Anyone with both consoles try this yet?

 

Shouldn't need to try it. The games work the same way - a console license and a gamertag license. The first console to download the game on the 360 side gets the console license. The purchasing gamertag's "home" console on the Xbox One side gets the console
license. As long as the 360 gamertags have Live Gold the game will work on the 360 side. Xbox One "home" consoles can share Gold so it shouldn't be required on the Xbox One side.

 

The 360 is a "obsolete" console. Why would they want a person to download Destiny first on the OLD console, to get free on the X1? This backwards??? I downloaded on my X1, but it cant cross over to my 360??? Does not make sense..... lets focus on
the X1..... put away the 360... IMO

 

It is for people yet to upgrade to the Xbox One. It gives them an option if and when they decide to jump into next gen.

I bought it on 360 and PS3 just so I would have it on all four platforms. The 360 version cost $5 more since there's no "Digital Guardian Edition" on the 360 store (have to buy the game and expansion passes separate). At least the 360 version gets one the
Vanguard edition on the Xbox One store.

It's useful if you don't have Xbox One consoles at all locations and want to play the same character regardless of where you are.

 

So what are the odds, that in purchasing for the Xbox One, I can download it to my 360 for free? Shame it doesn't look like it works backwards, I wish I COULD considering I just spent 96.00 on the Digital Guardian Edition.
