Free code for Fallout 3 only redeemable on Xbox One?

I'm curious if the code can be used either on Xbox 360 or if it can ONLY be used on Xbox One.

Xbox 360 store on Xbox One?

So it sounds like in order to redeem my free version of fallout 3 via code I will have to power on my 360 or go to xbox.com?

 

Fallout 3 Code not received after 10 days.

I purchased Fallout 4 on 11/13/15. According to the promotion I should have received a message with a code redeemable for Fallout 3 by 11/23/15. I have not yet received the code.

Either or The game is a backwards compatable game, so technically you're actually getting the 360 version, that is playable on the Xbox One.

So in answer to your question, you'll be getting the 360 version, so you can use it on either

So it sounds like I should be able to redeem it on the 360. Here's the issue, I've redeemed it online but I can't download it on the 360. Under my account it's listed under "My Games > Xbox One". When I click on it, it just says purchased 12/27/15. There
isn't a way to kick off the download. When I sign into the 360 (under the same profile) it doesn't show up under download history. If I search for the game, it doesn't recognize that it's been "purchased" already and wants me to pay for it....

Would you be willing to send me screenshots of what the Fallout 3 page looks like while you are signed in, please? Additionally, a shot of what the game looks like on your 360 would be helpful. Lastly, if you would please send me your Fallout 3 code via
private message (if you still have it), I will be able to check into it from that angle. You can send me a private message by clicking on the envelope at the bottom of my post.

Thank you trying to help me with this. So yeah, through the website, the game shows up under My Games under the Xbox One section:

So I click on the game to download it and all it says it when it was purchased:

On the website, if I search for Fallout 3. I get 2 options - Xbox One and Xbox 360. If I click on the Xbox One version it takes me to the last link above, but if I click on the Xbox 360 version, it takes me to the page to purchase it:

What retailer did you purchase this from? I think that's the last little bit of information we should look for. Once you get back to me with that, I will let you know what steps we will take next.

EDIT: Addendum, have you talked to the retailer about a replacement, too? Not saying you should do it, just wondering if you already have.

 

It was purchased from Dell. No I haven't contacted them because the code worked essentially. Just not how I thought it should've worked

I got word back from the team that they would like you to
contact phone support. I specify phone support because they have Billing specialists that should be able to get you the help you need. Let them know that your Fallout 3 is showing as an Xbox One game instead of a 360 game, and they should know how to get
you sorted out.

If they give you a resolution that you are not happy with, or do not give you a resolution at all, please send me another private message with the reference number they should provide you. We will be able to see what our next steps are from there.

Thank you for you help so far. I called the phone support and they weren't much help, unfortunately. They said that since it came with the Fallout 4 bundle that it's only redeemable and playable on the Xbox One.

When I explained that that wasn't what I was told and everything online said it was playable on the 360, he didn't really have an answer. I asked hypothetically if I had purchased this before the backwards compatibility update in November if I was out of
luck because again per him, it's only redeemable/playable on the Xbox One, he said that was correct. So essentially, I would've had a dud game until I received the backwards compatibility update. That just doesn't seem right to me.

I asked if I had purchased Fallout 3 from my Xbox 360, then could I play it on the Xbox One - he said correct. But he didn't really have an answer as to how it works the other way around, other than since it came with an Xbox One then it's only playable
on it. I don't understand why a 360 game isn't playable on the 360 regardless of how it was purchased.

Anyway, my whole intent when receiving the bundle was to give the 360 to my son so he can play Fallout 3 but unfortunately it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Hey, Siano! Sorry for the delay in response. My favorite time of winter is when you get so sick you need antibiotics (except not really).

Anyway, I am better now, I have your PM, and I'm going to look into it a little further.

For clarification, we've been giving Fallout 3 codes to users that pre-ordered the Fallout 4 game since July; backward compatibility came out in November. This game should work on your Xbox 360, and I want to make sure that is the case. I'll post back later
today or tomorrow morning with our next steps.

So, is it 100% safe to say I should be able to download this game onto the 360 using the code I entered? I would've figured other people would be having this issue too if what "phone support" told me was correct. Maybe I'm not searching correctly but I don't
see anyone else having the issue online.

Also, can you give me an idea as to who is going to be contacting me? I'm afraid it may be the same folks I talked to where one of the troubleshooting steps was to turn off the 360, unplug the power for 30 seconds, and turn it back on. Then check to see
if the game shows up.

Anyway, I can't thank you enough for giving it an extra effort to at least figure the "why" behind this issue.
