Free Choice of Language in Console Settings

Now we can't pick freely our Language and the system is not complete. I know this Topic has for a long time a lot of votes on Uservoice in the Settings Section. Also here it got several topics and an answer on 1 of them on 28th January 2014 where was said
they are working on it was Verified by XB1R Venus. Now 1,5 years later Microsoft hasn't made this possible. This issue is guess the biggest in Europe. Here in Europe languages don't stop at borders. I have several example's:

In Ireland are more people speaking Polish on a daily base then the native Gailic is spoken. Further the Polish are in more EU States.

Netherlands has a lot of foreign students attending Education that is given in English and don't speak Dutch.

Belgium has 3 languages (Dutch, Frence & German), you see this back on Sigarettes for example. Not only 2 Microsoft.

Italy has a big area where they speak German (South-Tyrol / Trient Area), but when you set German, you can't set Italy as locale.

Netherlands has a City called Kerkrade where a street is with one side in Netherlands and the otherside in Germany.



As this is Top Voted on Uservoice and several times for a long time asked here. I hope that you Xbox Support gives any descent information on why this was not yet made possible and when to expect this change or why not

Can I change the language?

The language of the game and console is now Region-Free so, you can purchase the game and setting your console with the dessire language will be enough.

Crass tone aside, ngocphi is correct. While the console's language setting can be altered under Settings, System, Console Settings, Language it's the physical region that you're located in that determines availability of content in languages as well as the
language of the Marketplace regardless of console setting.

 

Language has always been a freee choice on the console

If you mean the language if the marketplace thats based on the region of your account when you are connected to live

It is unlikely you will get any mention of timeline for that update

If i were you keep an eye on the preview program as new features come there first

Latest one being the new xbox one experience

 

Which is windows 10 on xbox one

 

You don't understand. You can't set Locale on Netherlands and then Language to English in the System Settings. Or like the German/Italy example.

 

Microsoft any chance you answer or are you gonna wait again and then close it as old topic?

Nothing in the current beta suggest it is being worked on yet

Suggest you keep na eye on news.xbox.com remmeber there is legal issues with that like no english content in an nin english region

 

The live marketplace is segrated to prevent mistaken purhases english content isnt available because rhte publishers set the languages not just ms

 

Wishing for something doesnt make it posible

A us or uk veesion may not pass your regulatory bodg

Hence why publishers localize the content to comply with the rules and market it to the majority in your country

Why sell something to lesss then 10 % of the country and deal wirh the legal issues like mistaken language

 

Or content that violates the local content laws

 

Every regiob has differeent content laws including amounts of torture or religious oe violence topics hence why you have different veesions of a game globally

 

Also licensing comes to play luke for every region a english composer may limit ut to regions they can make millions of dollara not 1 or 2 hundred

 

Google localization legal limits on content isnt something new

Content must be geared to the region it is marketed to

 

Why do younthink we dont get nearly as many games as japanese

Japanese games dont alwyas conform to western standards
