free battlefront "games with gold" can't sign in to xbox live

The short answer is that the original Xbox Live has not been updated, changed, or had security patches in over a decade. They are nit going to spend possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars putting it up for a very small player pool. And by that counting
all the original Xbox games like Crimson Skies and Republic Commando as well.

You can still,play via system link, ans there are various tunnelling programs that will emulate a LAN over the internet you can set up on a PC

Ah, right.

Well, it's not much of a perk to give away a game that's known for it's multiplayer without being able to play the multiplayer feature! Why doesn't MS set up a server to play old games?

Microsoft: Let's charge you for playing games online, (which should really be free.) But in return, you get free games! (throws scraps of a multiplayer game with no multiplayer)

Live for original Xbox games was discontinued years ago so unfortunately it's no longer possible to play that game online.

Lol it has not worked for a decade at least now. Older games have not a funcional online multiplayer.

Similar (or the same) issue here - yesterday on my PC I entered my credit card info and activated the one-month free trial of Xbox Live Gold, received the email today from billing@microsoft confirming the $0.00 purchase, and it shows up in my account when
I sign in on PC as an active gold subscription that will renew on Feb 25/16.

When I sign in on the console though, under "Subscriptions" it just says "Learn about Gold membership" and takes me to the purchase options. No indication of an active Live Gold subscription anywhere, no multiplayer options for Star Wars Battlefront, no
menu options for games with gold, etc.
