    Fraudulent use of account


    Has anyone has the issue of a refund being given/authorised but never actually refunded into the account? I'm fed up of trying to contact xbox/Microsoft and getting emails that say refund authorised then now I'm getting refund isn't allowed....im confused and can't get hold of anyone to confirm why my account was used fraudulently to buy a fortnite add on (they know the account was accessed by an xbox unknown to us) but after alot of communication, I still have received no refund.

    Why say refund allowed then never send the money back? Why does xbox not sort this issue? Its not fair on people who pay for the online service and for games just to be fobbed off when fraud is committed. Any help appreciated!

    My issue is with the emails I have been sent. I have at least 2 that say my refund will reach my account in 5 working days then when I contact them again using the messaging service, I get an email saying refund not given....confusing and conflicting considering it was a fraudulent transaction (checked by the customer support person) so where do I stand now?

    I still have no refund and no way of contacting anyone 😔.

    It depends on hpw you paid

    If creditcard and depending on where you ar in the world vs the us.

    Once the refund has been authorized it's in your BANKS Hands BUT this is where people get confused

    It can take upto 30.days if you aren't in North america this is due to how banks do refunds it never immediate

    You can't claim refund on the same item twice you must wait for the bank to proccess it this is mentioned by your bank in the card holder aggreement

    You are still responsible for minimun payment while you wait

    Now if you used PAYPAL THATS an entirely different story

    90days as per paypals policy

    If prepaid visa well also 60-90 days

    Purchase Transactions are handled by your payment proccessor

    Refunds however are done in batches of 1000s not one by one because it costs bank computer time vs purchases are handled by the payment proccessor

    This is to reduce time between purchases it would be insane to wait 30 days for payment and your item. While.banks paid

    Not so much refunds as it's covered by your card holder aggreement

    You can appeal the refund to expedite action. You can do that by replying the email you got from Microsoft with refund decision. Keep if brief and explain why you should get the refund and they'll take a second look.

    I have had 2 emails and my account shows that a refund was authorised but no money has ever been sent.

    Now I get emails saying I cannot have a refund so this needs to be looked into further than a request page.

    After submitting, wait for an email on the status of your refund. You should get one within 72 hours and if your request is approved, you'll get your money back soon after. Refunds are processed in 3 - 5 days.
