Fraudulent subscription charges

Hi,

My son cancelled his Xbox subscription. However, he recently noticed that £3.99 has been taken from this bank since the cancellation. - Bank statements prove this.

Looking at his account, the subscription is shown as cancelled since 03/08/18.

I have requested a refund from MS, but they state that there was no subscription, so they wont refund.

Bank has told us to contact MS -but they say there is no active subscription and close the case. I cant speak to anyone there?

Nightmare........Any tips to resolve?

Did you try appealing the refund decision? To do that, you just need to reply the email you got from Microsoft denying it. Explain everything to them in your reply and they'll sure take a second look.

There is no way to cancel a subscription without being the owner of the account and having access to it

If you believe you have fraudulent charges on your credit card you need to contact support

It is possible that the subscription was purchased on a different account. Please check the other accounts you have access to and all the accounts that are downloaded on your console.

If you are unable to identify the correct account, it will be considered a fraudulent charge and you will need to dispute the charge for the subscription with your bank.

If in fact it is fraud you most DEFINITELY want to file this with your bank. Even if MS could give you a refund (which they can't) IT IS STILL FRAUD. You should file with your bank as soon as possible. I would also suggest putting more layers of security
on your card.

But if your credit card number was stolen, but not the actual card,
you are not liable at all for unauthorized use; any fraudulent credit charges are usually credited back to your account immediately after THEY ARE REPORTED to YOUR BANK.

So do yourself a favor and protect yourself by call or filing a report with your bank.

If its fraud, you're not going to get a refund.

If someone else used your card at walmart and then you show up later at walmart saying give me my money back , same result. No money given.

Your card, you and your banks responsibility when there's fraud. It's up to the bank to deal with the fraud investigation
