Fraudulent charges on visa for xbox account that I do not have

I have been charged several times on my debit card by Microsoft box for the past month. Each time I have caught these charges and reported them to my financial institution. Each time, they have refunded me and sent me a new card. Each time I have a new card,
more charges are made by Microsoft. Some of the charges are one time purchases, but some of them are recurring. I am now on my 4th debit card, Microsoft xbox has been flagged on my card.

here is the kicker. I went a step further and called Xbox customer service to try and find out about an account that I never made. They told me they could look up the account with a partial card check. I gave them the last 4 of my card for the first time
it started. They told me that there was in fact an open account with several charges on it (all of the ones I disputed with my bank). When I told them I needed this account cancelled immediately they told me the only way they could do that is if I could verify
the account. I told them repeatedly that I could not verify because I personally do not have an account, I do not know anyone who has xbox, and therefore it would not be my telephone number or my email address. The customer service rep said there was nothing
they can do.

microsoft xbox customer service is terrible. I was on hold for 20 minutes at a time, and passed off from person to person until I was able to take to a supervisor who told me the same thing as everyone else. That they could not cancel or remove the card
information since I could not give them a verification of email or phone number. This is truly disgusting way to do business, Microsoft continues to allow fraud to happen under their watch and doesnt do anything about it. I have never had an xbox, and no matter
what will never have one due to this. I also will never use any Microsoft product in general.

If anyone has had this happen to them and has advice, any help would be appreciated. I dont want to keep getting a new card every other week.

Thank you for your response Francia. We no longer have any of the x box consoles and I am unsure of the account for which the charge is generating. Does this mean I need to contact my bank and report the charges as fraudulent? I don't think they are fraudulent, but without being able to access the account the charge is generating from this may be my only recourse. I would think a company such as Microsoft would have a better solution than sending a customer to their bank to report a charge as fraudulent when it likely isn't.

I see. Please check the other accounts you have access to. It is possible that the charge is on a different account.

If not, the charge should be considered a fraudulent charge. I would highly recommend contacting your bank to dispute the charge on their end.

Please contact Xbox support on this issue. They can do an investigation to fix issues with your account and can also refund any charges found to be fraudulent.

OP: To clarify, you have contact both Xbox support and your bank about these fraudulent charges? When you say "fraudulent" charges, do you mean that your account is compromised (someone you don't know has control of it) or was it used on your console by
a friend or family member? Please try to keep your posts short and simple; I'm having a hard time following these long posts. Thanks!

I never said they were XBOX Live transactions. They were for purchases from Microsoft made online. The first time it happened I applied for a card only to use with XBOX Live. Two years later fraudulent charges started. The second time I used a credit card
I had for over 10 years without a problem. One year later the fraudulent charges started. The first card only had 1 charge for Microsoft Purchases of over $1000. The second card had one charge for over $1200 to Microsoft and then 6 days later a charge for
another online retailer. I have four credit cards that I have had for over 10 years. I have never had any fraudulent charges on any of them. Do you think it is a coincidence that the only two credit cards linked to an XBOX live account ended up with fraudulent
charges? Is it also a coincidence the both cards had large Microsoft online transactions? How about when I call support about my account and they never confirm or deny that someone got my credit card info when I ask.them. Nothing is impossible, I think the
hacking community has proven that over and over.
