They are aware, but ultimately in any system - even archaic real life ones - it's virtually impossible to stop it. Sadly it's the case that everyone in 2019 should really have access to information to help them spot & counter these scams, I'd rather humanity
was better to each other but until that comes to pass it's about avoiding falling for it!

Report the accounts, they'll get the ban hammer, but it's like Hydra, cut one head off, more will appear in it's place!

Unfortunately it is something that happens from time to time. Report and block them and the enforcement team will take care of it from there.

Are Microsoft aware of the scams people are trying to pull on xbox? I keep receiving messages from accounts with zero activity on them, zero gamerscore etc, I know full well that they are after a legitimate players financial information and it
is irritating me.

Yes they are aware, and try to take action. I guess we can all take comfort in knowing that it is sometimes not quick, and cumbersome to set up all these dumby accounts so the amount of this type of activity is fairly low given the other internet connected
mediums out there.

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Forums. We are aware that there is accounts that are created with the purpose of spreading spam. The best course of action is to always report any account that seems suspicious and may be attempting to scam others.
Once the account has been reported the appropriate team will take a look at these accounts and then take the proper action to have them removed.
