Fraud - Possible xbox account hack and gift card purchase and gifting

Compromised Account Solution in order to make sure that your account is safe from a hack, which it appears that you have already done. In regards to contacting law enforcement, it would be best to do so, that way a criminal case for investigation can be
set up for you, as you have stated you've been able to do. Once that is done, law enforcement may contact Microsoft directly for further information regarding the proper contact information and the incident and we would be happy to release that information
to them via the correct channels in order for this to be resolved and the proper action taken.

If you feel that your account was hacked the first thing that I can reccomend is to follow the steps on this support article.

If you take the steps on this website and if you do not have access to your account MS will have you create a new account and will investigate any transactions that were done on your account and if they determine that the account was compromised they will
then transfer everything over to that new account and would give you a refund for all unauthorized charges.

I have done the following before calling Microsoft, the police in the UK and Paypal:

- changed passwords

- enabled two tier security

- removed all payment options attached the MS account

The point here for me which is concerning is...

- Microsoft have the details of the person who did this... their email, their account, etc

- This was 'gifted' to this individual from within my account

- Why can I not see the details of where the gift was given? That seems counter productive firstly

- Secondly... they will not give me the details to pass on to the police... which is obstructive and actually enabling the fraud to continue

As for Paypal they have opened a case for investigation at their end... I have made all Microsoft transactions 'disabled' so they wouldnt be accepted if they tried. Additionally the police have issued a crime number but I suspect as the 'data' for Microsfot
is held in the cloud but in the US that the laws between our nations will not enable them to force MS to release this information.

Quite frankly... what a dismal state of affairs in terms of security. Views?

Data privacy - if it was done on a credit card then call up your bank and tell them it was an unauthorised purchased and you will get your money back

It's not possible to gift 360 games. Unfortunately it's also not possible to purchase a gift card using funds from your Microsoft account.
