    Frame Rate Issues

I wonder if some discs just randomly have frame rate issues? I have the new Xbox 360 and the game installed to the hard drive, and I have frame rate issues 24/7, even when I'm just walking around in the world not doing anything. It's really ruining the
experience for me and I was really looking forward to this game :/

    Frame Rate Issues

honestly i am tired of seeing the "no power strip" advice. how would that even cause frame rate issues...? less power going to the console slows it down?? the outlet itself often is technically a "power strip of 2", and the whole house often splits one
circuit into many different outlets. no one is wiring up their console directly into the power box in their basement... are we supposed to give our xbox it's own dedicated circuit with nothing else plugged in around it? how many amps does that thing pull?
i never noticed my lights dimming when i turn on my console...

seriously just admit that someone made a mistake in pushing out this update, tell people there is nothing they can do. don't make people waste their time resetting, redownloading, sending their consoles away for no reason. i wonder how much $$$ MS made
from people paying for "repairs" only to get the same problem again on the repaired/replaced system...?

  5. There are actually two very good reasons for asking users to plug their console's directly into the mains.

    1. It can rule in or out a faulty or overloaded power strip. I had a faulty power strip, it was causing my console to freeze and lock up.

    2. Many power strips have built in surge protectors. This may work fine for all your other electrical equipment, but surge protectors don't work well with the Xbox One, reason being that the console already has its own surge protection built into the power
    supply.

No one is saying that you can't use a power strip, the console should work fine with a good working one. It's just that plugging into the mains can help identify if the issue is power related.

My faulty power strip created some really odd issues with my first console. from FPS issues to textures not loading in (no road in Forza for instance!). Looping sound effects, games dropping to the dashboard or just totally locking the console up.

  6. Any word on whether Microsoft is aware of the issue? Had friends over to play Rock Band this weekend and the whole screen freezes for 2-3 seconds, over and over through the course of a song, making a rhythm game like that unplayable. Everything worked fine
until recently, so it's got to be that update.

Well, I did plug it into the mains and it still does it.

I've re-re-reset the console, re-re-reinstalled my account profile, re-reinstalled the games and re-re-resynched them and yet it still happens.

I now am certain that it's a software issue (in this case, the recent update/patch) which for some bizarre reason has altered the frame rate somehow.

I will wait until it's officially confirmed before considering sending in my console as I don't want to waste my money for an unnecessary service.

    Frame Rate Issues

Obsessive Power: if that's truly the case, then that is terrible that they made this One console to rule them all SOOO incompatible with SOOO many things. people are having problems with new TVs, new Bluray discs, apparently surge protectors (for some odd
reason). for this Universal Windows Platform, there is a lot of things that really don't work Universally, and that's just totally ridiculous. leave it to Microsoft to take something as standard as a video game console and turn it into a computer with all
    sorts of issues.

i'm hooked on the achievement system, so they will be getting money from me for a long time, but i always do my best to rely heavily on free Games With Gold or other discounts first. i bought my console used, back when no one wanted it because everyone
was still mad about their crazy restrictions with online and kinect required. then they reversed everything and lost a lot of respect for being such wishy washy taker backers. personally i like the kinect and the new one is way better than the 360 one. anyway
this whole thing is a mess and previously unheard of in the entire history of video game consoles.

  9. New system update hit today. Still no fix, the frame rate drops and freezing problems persist, see for yourself. I guess this doesnt count as " performance issues". I wonder what is fixing the update then...

    Thanks for the links.

So, it IS an update glitch.

  11. Yeah, and the next thing they are going to suggest is to send your console for repairs (haha).

The consoles are not faulty, the problem is with the software itself. Dont send you console and waste your time and hard earned money.

If with every " improvement and performance" patch they want to make the console similar to PC, perhaps i should follow the trend and get a gaming PC.

Seriously, the xbox is getting ridiculus.

  12. Frame Rate Issues

Amen bro. But seriously QuickMythril, thanks. I appreciate when people are honest.

I just wish someone from MS came here to say " hey guys, we hear you and we are looking to fix this, stay tunned for an incoming update with a solution". But instead we get the usual stuff that everyone already knows.

Im mostly sad than mad, because i dont have the income to buy multiple gaming platforms, and trusted xbox over pc or playstation, sacrificing game variety over, what i thought, a better online service and software stability. Hurts to be wrong.

Anyway, i hope for any news from microsoft part (not useless tips), otherwise im afraid i will sell the console and start saving for a decent pc (not for windows 10 games tho, heh).

  13. I understand you are having issues, but these issues are still isolated. You are making out that the software update is bad, which would imply that millions of other users must be having these same issues when they are not. My console, my friend's console
and my nephew's console all had the same update and we have not had the this issue. I'm not denying that there are some that have problems.

This issue may be down to a manufacturing defect with a certain batch of machines. Contrary to what you may think, not all Xbox One consoles are the same. Like other high tech hardware, they have hardware revisions. The console's made in 2013 are not the
same as the ones made 2016. Some hardware goes bad, these are complex computing beasts, you can't expect every single Xbox One to work the same as the other.

To that end, could you upload a video of the performance problem you are having please?

Unfortunately, I can't upload a video but it is basically a drop in the frames per second resulting in choppy animation.
