    Frame rate issues?


    In games like destiny , fallout 4 I get these massive frame drops from like 60 to 18 and after 10 seconds it goes to 60 , Doesnt happen over and over , but every once in awhile.. How would I fix this?

    How am I lying?

    My monitor refreshes 60 times per second.

    I can lock frame rate to 30 frames per second via command console.

    I can lock frame rate to 60 frames per second via command console.

    I can see the difference between the game running at 30 fps and 60 fps.

    You think my system is suffering from rate drops.

    The frame rate tracker says my game is running at constant 30 fps when I lock it to 30.

    The frame rate tracker says my game is running at constant 60 fps when I lock it to 60.

    The frame rate tracker says my game is running at constant 299 fps when I don't lock the frame rate (it is unlocked by default).

    The frame rate tracker disagrees with your hypothesis that my system is suffering from frame rate drops.

    Where is the lie?

    No frame rate drops. The first game is pretty awful at maintaining fixed frame rate.

    @Sly Jon: No, man. It's not just that I'm giving the game a pass because I'm used to it. The frame rate is consistent, and very playable. It seems to be around 30 fps most of the time. It dips severely during cutscenes, and also sometimes when there's
    a lot happening. But the thing is, it doesn't stutter. Motion remains predictable and feels fluid even when the fps dips. Do you get me? What makes a game unplayable is repeated momentary freezing, aka hitching. That happens when the fps drops to near
    zero, then bounces back over and over--which is a problem with many games, but NOT this one, at least not for me.

    @Sly Jon, it's just frustrating though that through all the research I've done online, it seems like just by chance, many people's games are completely fine, while others randomly get a laggy game. No one seems to know why :/

    Oh and @Ramon284, Halo 4 also runs at 30 FPS, and that never bugged me. I think I just have a buggy disc :/

    I have the slim black Xbox 360 with the 250 gig hard drive. Is that the one you have? And I have mine installed to the hard drive.
