Frame rate dips and "soft" freezes

Hey everyone, I recently got the Advanced Warfare 1 tb Xbox One over the holidays and I find that in most games I experience frequent and sporadic frame rate drops even when there isn't much going on ingame, and sometimes 'soft' freezes, where it will freeze
for a split second, i've had these issues in Battlefield 4, Halo: MCC, GTA V, and the Halo 5 beta, I've tried hard resetting it, moving it to another TV, switching HDMI cables, and restoring the Xbox to factory settings to no avail. Could there be something
wrong with my console?

Do you have the game installed mate? on some games it seems to help with any issues with frame rate.

Frame rate dips anyone?

I have been experiencing frame rate drops and choppiness anytime I escape police, stop a phone call, and after completing campaign missions. It only lasts for a couple seconds but I noticed a trend on both mine and my brother in law's Xbox One. Has anyone
else noticed this and have any suggestions, should I disable online? I don't wanna lose my rep but I will do it if it helps.

Before you look into the possibility that you have a faulty console, can you tell me how you have the console plugged into the power. Is it plugged directly into the mains or via a power strip? Are you using any type of surge protector?

It's plugged directly into a wall outlet with no surge protector because I read that the PSU was already equipped with one.

Yea my dips are always most noticeable with online stuff, or as you said 'heavier moments'. I play a lot of online tailing, every game when finished it stays in online mode - you'll see the blue loading circle to the left and slow-mo doesn't work - when
it finishes the frames immediately dip even further (kinda judders) and then speeds up back into single player frame rates. I use slow-mo to check for people tailing, you could try that when you experience issues to see if it's the case.

Full speed driving can cause it, lots of action (like a build up of cars on motorway) will cause it, I've had it happen quit a bit although it's not too annoying. I always get dips as I leave or enter an online game, note that online games do not run at
30FPS smoothly so if you have a prolonged frame rate dip chances are someone is following you... you can clearly see the frame rate change as you back to SP alone.

That's an interesting point Hellfire, if it seems worse than usual someone could be tailing me. I did disable online altogether at the cost of my rep it seemed to help a little, but it didn't stop the dips in heavier moments or where I previously mentioned.
It just shortened the moments alot. I wonder if it lagged in between story missions was because online is disabled during a mission, so when I finish if it is lagging because it is putting me back into an online server, sort of.
