  1. FPS hit when streaming to PC at Very High setting?

I wonder if anybody else can confirm my observation. I've noticed while playing Witcher 3 that, especially in intense areas (Novigrad), fps are much worse when streaming to a PC at the max quality setting. Mind I'm not talking about a network problem as
the same side effect is perfectly seen on the tv, too. Switching down to High seems to help a lot in regaining the expected smoothness (or at least keep it within the acceptable zone).

It actually makes me wonder if the console couldn't squeeze a few extra fps out of itself if there was an option to disable the game PVR altogether, as apparently encoding does not come free of charge.

    :)

  2. 60fps games streaming in very high quality stuttering?

I tried playing Forza 7, and Doom, both games that run at 60fps, and they suffer from stuttering when set on Very High in the streaming quality on the Xbox App on PC. My Xbox and PC are both wired on a gigabit connection. Other games, 30fps, run fine on
Very High. Am I just going to have to deal with High for 60fps games?

  3. Game streaming constantly crashes.

Even with wired connection from xbox one x to pc, the game streaming function always crashes. This happens no matter the game/computer/streaming quality/wired/wireless. The video will freeze but the audio and controls will work. The bottom says network issues,
then the stream crashes. It happens at random intervals. When it is steaming, it runs flawlessly even on very high, but the disconnects make games unplayable.

    Xbox Console Companion Quality Settings

Thank you for the reply. One thing to add is that in researching this issue, other people have confirmed still seeing the "very high" setting.

Unfortunately, I find the "high" setting lacking and have resigned to no longer using the app to stream to my PC.

If the "very high" setting were to return, or if we could discover why it is missing for some people, I would use this on a nightly basis.

are you sure its running at 60, as there is no fps counter visible. the xbox one is a very dated machine that was out of date on launch, if you really want high fps on most games and to get that competitive edge then get a pc.

    XBOX streaming custom quality.

You can lower the bit rate in the Settings by changing Very High to High on your streaming preferences. You wouldn't need to edit some files in that case.
