    foxtel remote stops working when xbox is turned on


    since the September update enabled xbox on for Australia, I've plugged my foxtel through the xbox so I can turn on xbox, tv and foxtel with voice command. but since I've done that the foxtel remote doesn't work correctly. it doesn't pick up all button presses
    and sometimes pressing up goes down. I know its an issue with the xbox being on because when I turn off the xbox and watch foxtel via component cables the remote works perfectly fine. I have a feeling it has something to do with xbox controlling the tv via
    infra red (for on/off and volume commands). I've tried to see if I can change the foxtel remote frequency but there's no option.

    has anyone else had this issue, and does anyone know a solution.

    Xbox One Media Remote stops working on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and other applications.

    Update. Controller stops working when I unplug it from charging with the xbox too.

    Pulled the battery from the back of the controller and re-turned on.

    Still nothing.

    you will find using the remote to change to different devices easier.

    all i use 2 remotes as my receiver can change my tv and use my foxtel to change channels on that.

    I'm having the same issue.

    but I figured something about this.

    When TV that connected to XBOX is turned on. remote play works.

    but when TV is turned off. remote play is not working.

    if I turn on my TV first, then remote play from my PC . it works perfectly.

    then if I turn off my TV. suddenly Remote play become very unstable and stuttering.

    and it disconnected automatically in a minute.

    I tested wireless and wired , both behaves same.

    and most importantly , this issue not reproducing iPhone and android phone remote play.

    mobile phone remote play works perfectly no matter TV is turned on or not.

    Wow you are right! I recreated this behavior exactly.

    It would appear that PC Remote Play has some dependency on the XBox's TV being on. This is a great find @DaewooKim1!

    Harmony Remote support with Xbox One?

    If you are using an RF remote, on the remote manually go to "Settings: Devices: Hub Assignment" and try setting Xbox One to "Remote Only". That immediately fixed the soft buttons for me, but then the power wouldn't work until going through a few power cycles
    on the remote, including turning everything off when in the "Help (not everything turned on)" setup.
