    Found a workaround for CoD MW / Fortnite crashing on insider builds


    After suffering from crashing in the mp menus in Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Fortnite Save the world for months I did some searching and came across a workaround that seems to fix the crashing temporarily. It involves simply opening up the guide right before the game would normally crash (cod just loading up the mp section, fortnite stw loading up the mission map). This leads me to believe that it is possibly a software issue and not a hardware one. Maybe the frame rates being uncapped in the menus messes with something or a specific version of the xdk that these games use but simply opening up the guide makes the fan not ramp up as high and then the game works (fan ramps up normally during gameplay... just no spike and crash like in the menus without the workaround).

    I waited this long for this crap..

    To me, R6V was perfect. Way underrated. If it came out now people would say that it is a CoD wannabe. But it came out before CoD4:MW and has to this day, some very unique and awesome attributes that i've not found in other FPS's. I'm really hoping the next
    R6 builds on its predecessor instead of trying to appeal to everything CoD does.

    COD MW2 Vault edition games won’t launch

    What console do you have? Xbox 1
    When did you purchased the games? Sept 26, 2022, Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II - Vault Edition
    Are you using an insider build / beta OS in your console? No
    And, what did you tried so far to fix this? Closed and reopened the COD MW2. Rebooted Xbox 1.

    The other included items with the Vault Edition are there for the COD MW II game. The Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, Season 1 Battlepass points.

    The menu items to launch the Legacy games is found at the very bottom of all of the various COD MW II game modes. Including Warzone. However, when clicking any of the Legacy games it begins the 5,4,3,2,1 countdown and then nothing. Just presented with the same legacy games to select from. All 3 legacy games will not launch.

    I did not purchase the legacy games as they are included in the Vault Edition so they should launch when selecting them from the available game modes within COD MW II

    Hi, Chicken! Thank you for your reply and the additional information.

    - Have you tried switching Insider preview rings or leaving the insider program? perhaps it could have something to do with the preview build your console is on.

    - Are no other games besides Fortnite and Call of Duty crashing?

    - Is your console connected to the Internet via wifi or network cable?

    Regarding your mouse and keyboard, it's unlikely they have any impact on your games crashing.
