Forza Motorsport 7 & Rise of the Tomb Raider - HDR colors are washed out, or grey looking.

Hello all,

I am a happy owner of an Xbox One X Scorpio.

I also have a fully compatible 4K HDR 55" Sony which has all green ticks in the Xbox settings for HDR, 4k, 10 bit colors etc.

I have issues with two games. Forza Motorsport 7 and Rise of the Tomb Raider both seem to have issues with color and brightness. The pictures are too bright to the point that the colors are severely washed out.

I also have GOW4, Wolfenstein 2 and Forza Horizon 3 which all play great with HDR, so I know my TV is capable and without fault. It appears the issue is surrounding the games themselves as opposed to the hardware. My TV plays 4k HDR flawlessly via USB movies
or Amazon app.

This issue existed previously for PS4 but a firmware updated eradicated the issue completely.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

I know that there was a patch released recently after similar picture issues with UHD BluRay playback. I don't own any UHD disc, so cant check that element but I see people stating online that the patch has not sorted the issue for them.

Could these issues be linked?

rise of the tomb raider no HDR on one s

rise of the tomb raider did not shown in HDR on my Xbox one s, while gears of war 4 works fine.

When I launch gow 4, my TV shows an HDR mark.

When I launch rise of the tomb raider, it does not.

Is the HDR feature of this game an Xbox one X exclusive one?

Xbox One S HDR Bug

Add me to the list. I have a Vizio M55-D0, firing up Netflix causes washed out colors and is system wide until Netflix is exited out of. Even when playing an HDR title (Marco Polo) HDR isn't turning on and the colors are still washed out. Using SmartCast
HDR works just fine with Netflix.

OK, so not sure if there has been an update, but i have adjusted sliders in the options menu and now the images in both games are great!

Get latest NVIDIA driver 451.48 with Game Bar 5.320.6242.0 tested Forza 7 (windows app) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (steam)
both in HDR and Game Bar works perfectly.

Depends on the game. Some games implement it rather well while some do not, especially if it was added on. Forza 7, Gears 4 and the Master Chief Collection look amazing. Can’t wait for the new Tomb Raider as the developers have said HDR was a priority
from the start.

Also Genchy, ign says Porsche is confirmed for Forza Motorsport 6. How credible it is... I don't know. But seeing as you said Forza Horizon 2 new Porsche DLC Which i downloaded) is a good sign
