Forza Horizon 5, my game is acting weird.

Excellent in the meantime you can try the following steps:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

Automatic updates help keep your device on top of things with performance improvements and security patches. Unfortunately, these updates can hog your internet bandwidth and slow your system’s ping rate.

On Windows 10, you can set a bandwidth limit for system update downloads. Here’s how to do it.

Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.

Go to Update and Security.

Open the Delivery Optimization tab from the left pane and then open Advanced options.

Under the Download settings section, choose Percentage of measured bandwidth.

Check the Limit how much bandwidth is used for download updates in the background option.

Depending on your internet speed, adjust the slider to set the bandwidth limit to 10% or less.

Furthermore, disable automatic updates on your game client to prevent any hindrance during gameplay.

Contrary to the above, given the game in question, this is not sounding like a ping issue...this is sounding like a game issue.

Forza Horizon 5 has been plagued by this issue since it's release and, whilst things are better, it's nowhere near sorted. I regularly race with a streamer and, the other day, we were doing Arcade: I couldn't see anyone from the convoy on my TV yet on the monitor next to it I could see my car from the streamer's perspective; also, recently, one player was inivisible for several races in a row...we couldn't see him, he wasn't even listed on the player list (showing race positions) at times.

Until they resolve the issue, it is impossible to tell whether it is your computer/network or the game...you could do every single troubleshooting step possible and still not resolve it

UPDATE:

Probably I found a FIX!!

Yesterday I was playing and I noticed that I was in a convoy even though the game said I couldn't connect to the server.

Went into my Firewall settings and noticed that there were a lots of Forzahorizon5.exe not allowed. I allowed them on Private and public and i can see players. I didn't test the convoy tho.
