Forza Horizon 5 - Keeps Crashing After Loading

Not really sure if Xbox for Windows is the correct place for this, though it is an Xbox game downloaded via Game pass.

Anyhoo... I pre-installed Forza Horizon 5 a few days before it's official release date of November 9th, via the Xbox app on Windows. On November 9th, I loaded the game for the first time, and it seemed to load fine. Got past the initial loading screens, it sync'd the data from my Xbox profile etc... all seemed well.

Until it crashed. And again. And again. And again. And etc.

It crashes pretty much randomly at any point, but usually soon after it's loaded and I can control the car, or the menus. It has crashed on the loading screen, the menus and in-game. I did once manage a full race, THEN it crashed.

I've tried pretty much every repair method I've found, including:

Updated Visual C++ Redistributable, both x86 and x64

Disabled AVG background scanning.

Disabled Game Mode.

Exited MSI AfterBurner.

Uninstalled the Nahimic Service, associated with Sonic Studio (I read this can cause CPU usage issues).

Uninstalled all Sonic Studio software (I read this can also cause weird issues).

Repaired the game via Apps and Features.

Reset the game via Apps and Features.

Repaired the Xbox App via Apps and Features.

Reset the Xbox App via Apps and Features.

Repaired the MS Store via Apps and Features.

Reset the MS Store via Apps and Features.

Ran the game as an Administrator.

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

And I think that's all I've tried so far. And NONE of it has worked. For the record, Forza Horizon 4 works flawlessly. Forza Horizon 5 shouldn't be ANY different.

I'm out of ideas. People say that running as an Admin works. Some say disabling their AntiVirus works. Some say that simply reinstalling the Visual C++ software worked. Nothing has worked for me and I'm getting a little frustrated.

Does anyone have any idea, ANY idea AT ALL as to why FH5 refuses to function? Like I said, FH4 works absolutely flawlessly, so it cannot be my PC or it's hardware.

Anyway seeing the solutions you've tried, which were probably all available through Forza support, I suggest you try the alternative below.

I don't know if you tried, but the error 0xc0000005 code you reported is displayed when the system might have corrupted files. Usually, the problem is solved using the tool below.

* If none of the above solutions solve the problem, I suggest you try the solution below.

Download the Create Windows 10 installation media application from the link below, at the end of the download run the application, and then follow the instructions given by the program at the end click on upgrade. Rest assured none of your files will be lost, this is a system restore that will try to fix this error.

I've been dealing with this same issue with the same error code 0xc0000005. It's made the game almost entirely unplayable and I'm fairly convinced it's something to do with how the platform handles the game. This should've been addressed for launch as I know this was happening during early access as well. Absolutely unacceptable.

Hi Joakim,

Sorry to hear Forza Horizon keeps crashing right after the picture.
If Forza Horizon 4 is disabled from being a background app it may crash or hang when suspending and resuming. check whether the setting is set to Off: Privacy > Background apps > Forza Horizon 4 > Off. Please keep this setting On.

Try running Forza Horizon 5 as an administrator. It fixed my random crashes.
