Forza Horizon 5 install error 0x00000001

I can't install both AoE IV and Forza Horizon 5 through Game Pass 0x00000001 error message. I tried everything, including a fresh install of Windows 11, but I still have this issue.

Solution 1: My Game is Not Launching or is Crashing on PC – Forza Support (forzamotorsport.net) This link provides a multitude of troubleshooting steps you can attempt to try and resolve issues with installing or launching the game. I would scroll down and start with the reset of the Xbox App and Windows store.

Solution 2: Play games offline on Windows 10 using Offline mode; this error could also be attributed to issues with the Microsoft store not recognizing your entitlement to the game. Would you please click on this link Play games offline on Windows 10 using Offline mode | Xbox Support. Then scroll down and click on the drop-down arrow and look at the steps for How to enable offline play on your device.

Solution 3:

1. Open the Xbox APP
   
2. Sign out of the App
   
3. Then click install on Forza 5
   
4. You will see that no installation progress will start
   
5. Sign back into the App and see if the installation starts
   
6. You might also see an install update, and I would click on that
   

Sometimes you need to fix the connection with your account and Xbox services.

Solution 4: Make sure you do not have other programs like

• Anit-virus
  
• Firewall
  
• PC Optimizers
  

Blocking the game

Solution 5: Create a local user or administrator account in Windows . Sometimes you can have a situation with permissions or profile corruption. Please follow the steps in this link to see if that fixes the current issue you are having.

I am very grateful for your detailed help but I was impatient so I went ahead and formatted my PC and a fresh Windows 11 install updated everything before downloading any games, and thankfully I have all my games on a different drive so it was the quickest way. and all works now perfectly!

on the other hand I have tried all provided solutions but nothing worked for me on other forms some people it worked for them. maybe because I upgraded to Win 11 I am not sure why there was something corrupt in my reg files or something.

I had the same issue with trying to open Forza Horizon 5 from game pass, would open the microsoft store to the "gaming services" page just to tell me it's already installed. Tried multiple reboots an reinstalling the xbox app. Tried the "repair" and "reset" buttons in the app settings for Forza Horizon 5 and after a reboot the xbox app won't even recognize the game is installed, asks me to install it again and then returns an error when I try (Error code: 0x00000001)
When I try to open the app settings for Forza Horizon 5 from the start menu now it just leads to the generic apps window and doesn't locate FH5 at all.

so like what I just have > 100gig of dead space on my SSD now? nice

edit: I updated windows and tried installing FH5 to a different drive, it downloaded like 100mb of data and then recognized the game and let me open it from my SSD again. weird but ok
