Forza Horizon 5 hangs up after initial title screen

I had been playing Forza Horizon 5 via Game Pass on my Xbox One for about a week or so, but starting a couple days ago - every time I try to launch the game, it gets past the first title screens (Developer, publisher, game, or something like that.) and then it just gives a black screen. No sound, nothing to indicate it's loading, just a black screen. I left it to see if it would eventually load, but no dice. I'm able to launch the Xbox guide, get to the dashboard, and close the game. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it - still does it. I wasn't sure if it was a Game Pass issue or a Forza issue, but the game's last patch I think was a couple weeks ago and everything was working fine after that patch. Other Game Pass games are working as intended as well. Any help would be appreciated!

Different profile didn't resolve the issue, no.

That's odd.

We can try some things just to see if that makes a change:

A. Can be odd but:
Go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

Once you’re inside the Advanced Settings menu, go to DNS settings and select Manual from the list of available options.
When you get to the next screen, enter 8.8.8.8 in the box associated with the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.

Once the default DNS addresses have been changed, restart your console and see if the issue has been resolved at the next console startup.

If that doesn't work use 1.1.1.1 as primary and 1.0.0.1

B. Are you using an insider build / beta OS in your console? If yes please try leaving the program and then try again

C. Do a factory reset on the console but keeping games and apps
Open Settings > system > console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps

May I know if you have the game installed on a external hard drive?
If that's the case, please try moving the game to the internal storage , disconnect the external drive and test again.

If that's not your case, may I know if you can try starting the game using a different profile in your console?

Success! Resetting the console did the trick. I did not know I could do that and still keep my games and apps, super clutch. Thanks for taking the time to help me! Made my weekend 🤙
