    Hello, could you assist me please, FH5 won't launch because of an error which has to do with xbox services, I couldn't solve the issue also Microsoft support couldn't.
    I tried these methods:

    resetting the game

    resetting the store

    resetting xbox app

    restarting xbox services

    flushing the DNS

    verifying game data/files using the xbox app

    I have Windows 11 Pro with the latest updates

    Thank you for your reply, I have followed the steps you have mentioned but none of it worked, the issue only happens with FH5, the other FH4 is working (both of them are from Microsoft store).

    Hi CJ

    Sorry to hear that, I can advise you another things to try:

    A. If you installed the game on a different drive than C: please try moving the game to this drive and try again

    B. Can be a bit odd but, open Task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily
    Restart your PC and give it a new try

    C. Create a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there

    D. If that doesn't work run this command using powershell: (this helps to reinstall corrupted dependencies)

    Press Windows key + X and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

    Type or copy / past the following command and press Enter:

    Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

    Restart the PC and try again

    E. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

    Is this happening only if you try to open FH5? other games work as expected?

    Please try these other things:

    Press Windows button and type Services

    On Services App from the list of results, press right-click and run it as administrator

    Scroll to the bottom and find the following services:

    IP Helper

    Xbox Live Auth Manager

    Xbox Live Game Save

    Xbox Live Networking Service

    Gaming Services

    And do this with each of the services listed above:

    Right-click over the service and select Properties.

    Find the Startup type section and make sure it’s set to Automatic (if not, change it to automatic)

    If the service isn’t started, click Start to start the services

    Restart your PC and give it a new try

    If maybe that doesn't work reinstall gaming services via powershell command

    Press Windows key + X and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

    Type or copy / past the following command and press Enter:

    Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

    Restart the PC and Open the Xbox application.



    A blue notification with the following message is going to appear at the bottom:

    "This app needs an extra component. Gaming Services is needed for playing some games. Administrator approval required. Install"

    Select Install to reinstall Gaming Services, once installed check again

    If the issue persists try disabling temporarily all the startup programs: (in case one is interfering with the game)

    Open task manager > show details > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there

    Yes, I attended two other users having this issue yesterday. I'm not sure if the game offers Windows 10 compatibility. To see the available options, please right-click the Forza Horizon game executable > Click properties > Go to compatibility tab > Check run this program in compatibility mode for > Select your choice.

    If you don't know where the installation path is (that have the game executable file), please go to Start > Find Forza Horizon > Right click on it > Click on More > Open file location.

    If you haven't tried already, you could try to reinstall the gaming services and remove your Xbox accounts from the computer to sync again with the servers.

    - Go to start > Search for PowerShell > Right click > Run as administrator. Type the following command and press enter:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

    - Press Windows + R and type in "regedit". Press enter.

    - Search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services

    - Delete the folders "GamingServices", "GamingServices.net" (if they're still there).

    - Click on Start > Search for Credential manager > Windows credentials. Search for Xbl|DeviceKey, click on it and then Remove. Also, remove all the XblGrts and XboxLive credentials.

    - Delete Accounts and Cache folders at:
    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Repair, then Reset.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Xbox App > Advanced Options > Repair, then Reset.

    - Press Windows + R. Type TEMP and press enter. Delete all the files inside this folder. Repeat this step by typing %TEMP% and Prefetch. Delete everything on both folders too.

    - Press Windows + R. Type WSRESET and press enter.

    - Restart your computer. Run Powershell as administrator and run the following commands (one at a time):

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    (this command can show you some errors, this is normal, just wait until it finishes)

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    - Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Also sign in on the Microsoft store with your Microsoft account.

    - Restart your computer one more time. Check your computer region/country and language and please make sure it is the same as your Microsoft account (https://account.microsoft.com/profile). Also check your time zone and date/time is correct.

    - Go to Start > Type Services > Open it. Find all Xbox Services (Xbox Accessory Management Service, Live Auth Manager, Live Game Save, Live Networking Service, Gaming Services). Right Click > Properties> Set the startup type to Automatic. Also Start them.

    If the issue persists and even doing a in-place upgrade did not help, I would say you would need to reach to the game developers and report this bug. I can give you more troubleshooting steps to do, but this looks like a game issue since other users are reporting this same error on Windows 11.

    Thank you for you answer, sadly these steps did not solve the issue, is there anyway to launch the game in compatibility mode for Windows 10 ?, otherwise I will report this bug to the game developers, since you have mentioned that other users are reporting this same error on Windows 11.
