Forza horizon 5 Crashing on Alienware m15 R2

Could be the games on the app indeed, but that's odd. One thing we probably didn't try yet, is a full format on your PC, but that's a bit aggressive. In fact, I'm not entirely sure if that will work as well. But, you mentioned it only happens with games on the xbox app. Do you have games on Steam? Or Any other launcher? In those it do work perfectly?

So i did a mem test using Pass mark. No issues with the memory.

sfc/scannow also said everything is ok.

I already reinstalled Windows 10 and then updated it to 11.
I did a repair and reset for Gaming service and xbox app. it did not work.

Then i tried removing the app as well still did not work.

There are a couple of things we could try:

So, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then, try to uninstall and install the Xbox app.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

Quick Update,

So I did everything I can, I did a reset and checked if the game works. It did not. I also downloaded a new copy of windows 11, removed all the partition, created them again, reinstalled windows without the software that came Alienware but Forza Still fails. Other games which had a little issue like Just cause 4 worked like a charm. But Forza crashes with the same error.

I am now 100% confident that the issue is with the game and not the any hardware. I'll raise this with Forza community soon.

I checked and it point to Nvidia Graphics (GPU-1). It switches to GPU 0 when the app crashes. I have a weird feeling this is something to do with Graphics and not memory. The reason why i say this is when the crash happens i see the screen filled with pink dots and squares. Is there a tool which I can use to check my graphics card ?

That does sound more like a hardware issue rather than the game, although with FH5 anything is possible!!

if you have Steam, I would try downloading 3DMark and running it's Timespy benchmark program as that should highlight any issues:

Scroll down the page and, on the right, you will see a "download demo" button so you don't need to spend anything. However, 3DMark is on offer on Steam currently for £3.44 which is excellent value..the full program has some more intensive benchmark programs as well.

As to checking the GPU, there's not really an easy way to check given your system is a laptop...and I suspect that opening up your laptop would void any warranty you have left as it is rare for a systems maker to allow it.

You can, however, monitor the GPU's temperature and usage which may indicate a possible issue. There are 2 options:

1) If you have NVIDIA GeForce Experience installed (I am assuming you have an NVIDIA GPU), apparently they added a GPU monitoring widget last year...I have no clue as I don't use NGE but this page covers the info:

2) The alternative is to use a 3rd party GPU monitoring program. Arguably the best one is MSI Afterburner:

Try running the game and see what happens with your GPU temps...I would not be surprised if they suddenly rocketed upwards, although I also wouldn't be surprised if they did nothing much. The issue you are having could be hardware related (a flaky GPU, maybe the GPU doesn't have enough thermal paste applied) or game related.

One other thing is to make sure that your laptop's fans are running as high as possible when running games. No clue on fan profiles etc on AW laptops but I imagine there's some sort of software

Edit: Reading over your other posts, it does point to the Xbox App being the issue...however, it could be that the way it works (compared to, say the EA app) is more aggressive and so more prone to highlighting hardware faults.
