Forza Horizon 4 running on my integrated graphics instead of my dedicated gpu!

Please try the following:

Right click on your desktop and launch the NVIDIA Control Panel. Click manage 3D settings. Select the program Settings tab.





While you'll find many games and apps in the drop down here, you probably won't find Forza. So click the Add button.

The Scroll down the list until you find Forza Horizon 4 and click on the 'Add Selected Program' button. I don't have this game installed, so the below screenshot is for illustration purposes only.







With Forza Horizon 4 now selected, go to the second drop down option and 'High Performance NVIDIA processor'. Click 'Apply' and then try your game again.

The benchmark screenshot suggests your game is already using the dedicated graphics card as the GPU model is recorded as an GTX 1050Ti.

However, the CPU results look off. It seems the game is CPU limited somehow. While the GPU looks fine.





When it comes to games, the CPU draws the screen, frame by frame and sends this information to the GPU to render, frame by frame. If the CPU is not performing as it should it won't send enough frames to the GPU to render.

Are you plugged into the mains when play Forza Horizon 4? Have you set the laptops power settings to 'Maximum performance'?

Heat could play an issue here. If the CPU is not getting enough cooling it could be thermal throttling and this could also produce the low performance.

While not an extremely powerful machine, this laptop should have more than enough performance to play this game at 1080P with Medium to High settings at a pretty much locked 60fps.

Please, uninstall the current Graphic Card drivers.

Open the Device Manager window by pressing the Windows Key + X and Select "Device Manager".

Select Display Adapter > Right-click the device, and click Uninstall Device > OK

Then, restart your PC.

Then enter your graphics card manufacturer page (I will list NVIDIA and AMD if you use one of them), and download and install the latest drivers.

Well, both the Integrated Graphics Card (Intel UHD Graphics) and the dedicated Graphics Card (the MX130) are both well below the minimum for the game.

The game won't run at all on the dedicated GPU as the game needs DX12 and the feature level of the MX130 is DX11.1; the Integrated GPU does have DX12 but is still well below the threshold.

In all Honesty, I would be amazed if the game even started on your laptop, much less ran
