Forza Horizon 4 progress lost

recently reinstalled fh4 and when i launched the game it had me choose from two syncs old or newer and i unkowinlgy just picked newer. It started a new game as if i had never played before. after a long time of messing around i finally got that prompt to show up again and i chose the older save(from the cloud). it synced and then it was the same thing. as if i had never played before. under the xbox app it shows all my achievements and such but how can i get back my progress?
