    Forza Horizon 4 PC Win10 - FH501 error at start


    Today I installed a FH4 on my PC and it shows FH501 error. Error means that my videocard does not supprt DirectX12. But system info shows that DX12 is on my PC. What to do ?

    The upgrade options on this old Dell are quite limited. To upgrade with a dedicated graphics card would require a power supply upgrade. Unfortunaly there a some problems with this:

    • The power supply is a proprietary Dell unit designed specifically to fit this particular machine, I doubt you'll get a more powerful unit now.
    • This machine is pretty old. The technology it's made up of dates back to 2012.
    It's not worth upgrading. A replacement power supply more powerful than the one its got may be difficult to source and without a new one you can't add a dedicated graphics card because there isn't enough power to run it.

    Best to put your money in whole new machine. Making sure it has a gaming capable graphics card.

    Hi,

    The biggest issue here isn't the lack of supported DirectX it's a lack of any kind of dedicated graphics hardware. Your machine has no dedicated graphics card.

    The graphics on your old Dell OptiPlex is provided by the Intel HD 2500 which is part of your computer's processor. This falls way below the minimum requirements for the game. You can't run it on that machine.
