Forza Horizon 4 (PC) not recognizing my controller

I recently purchased Forza Horizon 4 through the xbox app on PC. When I launch the game with the controller connected and turned on, it will show the keyboard prompts on screen. If I press a button on the controller, it will change to the controller prompts and immediately change back to keyboard prompts. It will occasionally read one of my inputs, but mostly remains unresponsive when I press a button or move a stick. This issue is not replicated in any other game, including Halo Infinite and Minecraft (in the xbox app) or in Steam games. I've tried deleting Forza Horizon 4 and reinstalling it, only to have the issue persist. What else can I do?

The controller is fine with other games on my pc. Only when playing forza horizon 4 this issue happens

Hope you're doing well despite your technical issues. You mentioned that you're trying to use your controller with Forza Horizon 4 on PC and it's not working but the issue doesn't replicate with other games. According to the Xbox Support article for troubleshooting your wireless controller, (found under "Some or all of my buttons on my controller don't work as expected > I am seeing this behavior in ONE game") you should check to see if the game settings aren't causing an issue but if this doesn't work your controller may need to be replaced. At the bottom of this page you can sign in to check your controller warranty.

You don't need Gold for a Forza Horizon 4 Club. I was able to join a Forza Horizon 3 club aswell on pc. And on PC Gold doesn't exist
