Forza Horizon 4 Not Using Dedicated GPU At All

Both my monitors are plugged in the GPU. Let me just state here for upcoming help. All my other games work flawlessly, with my gpu (of course). Only Forza Horizon 4 refuses to use it

The benchmark screenshot suggests your game is already using the dedicated graphics card as the GPU model is recorded as an GTX 1050Ti.

However, the CPU results look off. It seems the game is CPU limited somehow. While the GPU looks fine.





When it comes to games, the CPU draws the screen, frame by frame and sends this information to the GPU to render, frame by frame. If the CPU is not performing as it should it won't send enough frames to the GPU to render.

Are you plugged into the mains when play Forza Horizon 4? Have you set the laptops power settings to 'Maximum performance'?

Heat could play an issue here. If the CPU is not getting enough cooling it could be thermal throttling and this could also produce the low performance.

While not an extremely powerful machine, this laptop should have more than enough performance to play this game at 1080P with Medium to High settings at a pretty much locked 60fps.

Please try disabling first all startup program, restart your PC and give it a new try.

If the issue persists:

Do you know if your graphics cards driver is up to date?
About your Windows, are you on Windows 10 or 11?

And, your PC have both dedicated and discrete GPU? or only a dedicated GPU?

By the way, is this the first time that you play Forza Horizon 5? Or are you experiencing this issue recently? (And, only with this game is this happening?)

There are a number of things that can cause crashes in Forza Horizon 4. It could be another program running or even just needing to update your GPU driver. Here is a link to a thread with some known issues and possible solutions to try. I would make sure
your GPU driver is up to date first.

so forza horizon 2 looks better then DC and doesnt use the extra gpu cool
