Forza Horizon 4 - Grayed Out Auction House

the auction house might require the Allow user created content option to be enabled on the account.

This setting can also be set via
http://account.xbox.com/settings

This settings needs to be set by the parental account for the child account(s) after the setting has been set the account needs to be signed out and back in again on the console for the settings to become active.

If this is Not working, try setting the account to Adult, save it and set it back to teen again. Be sure to validate if the Allow User created content option is enabled and sign out and back in again.

To answer your other questions

1. yes the auction house is still grayed out even with the relevant privacy settings/online privileges allowed.

2. I have tried signing out and in then relaunching the game, but it was grayed out again after about 20 minutes. I also have restarted my pc a few times.

3. I only other game with Xbox accounts that I play is Minecraft and it has no issues with permissions. Forza horizon 4 is the only game that I have from the Forza series.

Is that in Forza Horizon 4 ? Seems that car is only available as a wheelspin prize, hence the large price on the auction house.

Thanks for the update with this information.

Your account privacy settings are correct and you shouldn’t experience any issues with all these settings allowed. The method you used to adjust the settings is also correct, I forgot to mention you need to go through family settings if in a family.

The Auction house in FH3 unlocks once you upgrade/expand your Byron Bay Festival to Level 2. As far as I know, this is the only in-game requirement needed to unlock this feature.

A few people in other forums have mentioned that you need to change your account age and have a adult/teen account for this, although I believe you only need to allow the privacy settings. Refer to this thread with the same question.

This could just be a server issue with Forza, hopefully sorted soon.

Are there any safety settings enabled on your router that may restrict online content in games?

Can you access the in-game auction house, on your account, from another device and/or network?

Is this the only Forza game (or any other game) with content you can’t access? Try to see if you can access the auction house in Forza Horizon 4, which is free to play with Game Pass. Deleting and reinstalling the game might also help.

To access the auction house in Forza Horizon 3, first make sure you’ve completed enough of the tutorial and unlocked the festival playlist. As this is an online feature, you also need to be connected to Xbox Live.

Privacy settings: “You can see and upload community creations” - set to “everyone”. This can be done on an Xbox One or through the privacy & online safety page.

If making this change on Xbox One: This setting is in general settings - “online safety & family” then under “Xbox Live privacy” - select “view details and customise” then “Game content”.

Make sure to select ‘submit’ when making any account changes, to confirm and save these settings. (This step only needs to be done if on Xbox.com, not on Xbox One).

As you’re on a child account, an adult in your Microsoft family will need to sign in and adjust your privacy settings. You’ll also need to sign out and back in again on your Xbox console, for these changes to take affect.
