Forza Horizon 4 crashes while online

Hi thanks for your answer. I'm currently playing from PC (the game was initially purchased as Xbox One digital content, but as I don'thave live gold I can play online) and my friends are playing from PC. The game crashes suddenly without notice when we play together in a convoy, not when entering a speed zone. For example, we start a championship we are able to compete, if we're lucky, in 2/3 races because the game crashes on my end and after some minutes on my friends device. I don't know if it's the same problem, but it's not speed zone locked, I'm guessing it has something to do with timing (???) but I'm not sure

May I know which forza horizon version do you have on PC?
The one from Microsoft Store or Steam?

You’re welcome! The crash logs would be helpful to highlight the driver(s) responsible for the crashes, but I believe the issue would need to be addressed and resolved in a game update anyway.

Open Windows File Explorer

Go to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files to the desktop, then zip these up

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, Google Drive, DropBox, etc), then choose to share and get a share link

Be sure to share the crash logs and any specific error codes when contacting support. You can also always share these files here and I’ll take a look for you. I would’ve asked for this earlier, but as you and all your friends are experiencing the same issue, it’s unlikely anything you can do from your side - even reinstalling the game and Windows itself didn’t help in this situation.

Also, I’ve come across a few similar threads where others have interestingly resolved Forza crashes in Windows updates. What Windows version and OS Build are you and your friends currently on? Press the Windows key + R, type winver in the Open box, then select OK, or go to Settings > System > About for more detailed info with your PC specs.

As Playground Games are focused on the new game, FH5, this unfortunately probably won’t be sorted for a while. They’re also working on the Fable series at the moment. There was actually a game update for FH4 released yesterday though, and this is the first significant one in almost a year.

The update just added a new save recovery option, but see if there’s any improvement with this update installed and applied:
