Forza Horizon 4 Crashes and Xbox Shuts Down While Playing

Since the issue occurs in other games as well, I will suggest preforming an Offline System Update.

You can update your console using the Xbox Start-up Trouble-shooter. To bring up the Xbox Start-up Trouble-shooter, follow these steps:

1. Power off your console, and then unplug the mains lead to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
   
2. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the mains lead back in.
   
3. Hold the Pair button and then press the Xbox button.
   
4. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone.
   
5. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Start-up Trouble-shooter.
   
6. Plug the USB flash drive with the Offline System Update files into a USB port on your Xbox console. When the flash drive is inserted, the Offline system update option on the Xbox Start-up Trouble-shooter becomes active. Use the D-pad and A button on your controller to select Offline system update to initiate the update using the files saved on your flash drive.
   

When the update is complete, the console will restart and you should be returned to the Home screen. If this happens, your console is now up to date! You can remove the USB drive from your console.

With issues like these, I would suggest to preform a Soft Factory Rest by selecting Reset and keep my games & apps. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data that can cause this issue without deleting your games or apps.

To Reset your console, Select System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console > Choose Reset and keep my games and apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

I installed FIFA 21 and same thing happened. Xbox shut down at FIFA 21’s loading screen.
