Forza horizon 3 crashes on startup i have looked for ways to solve the problem but nothing seems to work

GAME WILL NOT START ON BUILD 14942

Same issue here on build 14931. GoW4 and Forza Horizon 3 will crash on start. But Forza Motorsport 6 Apex will run without problem.

Forza Horizon 3 crashes at startup

I've recently downloaded Forza Horizon 3 for pc, however, when I try to boot it up it closes immediately after a few seconds. Ive also found this error in my windows logs:

I've already tried uninstalling my antivirus, downgrading my Nvidia drivers to 372.70 and booting it up after downloading a free game from the windows store (Found on another forum that this helped some people).

My pc specs:

AMD Vishera FX-6300

Nvidia GTX 970

8 GB ddr3 RAM

MSI 760GA-P43 (FX) motherboard

Does anybody know how to fix this?

When you say crash, its unable to open right, go back to main screen? so try to open another game, if they do right try you game again so if they not start, do a power cycle on console holding power button for 10 secs, wait 2 minutos so you can turn on again.

I got the exact same issues.

The game work for couple of yours then i stop playing. Then later the same day or the day after i start the game and the issue happen. I tried a lot of tuff:

-Update windows

-Update video drivers

-Tried the ntfs permission fix (found on another thread by Microsoft)

-I do not have any 3rd party anti virus

-Windows is freshly installed with only Forza and Steam (wich works well)

-Checked the minimum specs (wich i pass)

The only way to get it to work is by downloading the game again! I've done so 5 time in the last days and i'm pretty mad about that!

I feel like Microsoft took our money and left us with non working product......

I know my pc is supported because the game actually work

My spec:

Intel Core i7

12 gb ram

Nvidia 1050 TI

One thing that may be an issue, and i'm not sure how you could test this without an external GPU is that Arc didn't exist when the last update was made to FH3.

It might be failing to do proper calls and that's your protection issue

However, before that, I would like to ask some questions:

What are your hardware specifications?
Are you running Windows 10 or 11?
Did you download the game from Steam, or from where did you download the game?
Is this issue occurring with more games, or is just Forza Horizon 3?
Besides changing folder permission, did you try other procedures?

Meanwhile, please review if your system is up-to-date.
You can check for Windows updates via PC Settings > Update & Security > Windows update > click on “Get Updates”.
