Forza Horizon 3 - Controller Problem while Racing

Hey there,

I played FH3 on Win10 for some weeks using a xbox 360 Controller and everything was fine.

After updating the game recently I am getting a very odd behavior:

While just driving around everything works fine, no problems.

When I start a race and leave the free roaming mode, the controlinput are sometimes being ignored.

For example, while driving down a straight line and accellerating all of a sudden the car Begins to slow down for half a second and then will accellerate again. this happens all the time making it unplayable. Affected is not only the braking / accelerating
but also the steering.

I tried reinstalling every Driver and the game. Windows 10 has all updates installed. I also happen to have 2 wireless recievers for the 360 Controller and 4 Controllers - the Problem stays.

Like I said: Free roaming works perfectly in FH3, only the races do not work. Every other game works fine.

Any advices?

Forza Horizon 2 will release in 2014 for Xbox One and Xbox 360

And this is another reason why I didn't bother with Horizon.

"Forza" hasn't been about racing for a while now.

 

Vibration not working with the Xbox One Wireless S controller in Forza Horizon 3.

I've tried new batteries and they are fine, also updated the controller. It also only occurs in Forza 6: Apex and Forza 3 Horizon. Read a tread in the Forza forums and everyone with a S controller have the same problem.

To check, when you're racing are you playing offline or online? If you haven't already, try connecting to a different USB port to see if there's any change with your connection.

I am playing offline. Another USB Port does not make any difference.

Like I typed in the original post: It just affects races. Open world driving is not affected at all.

Other games also work without any problems.

Super odd that it's only occurring with races even while offline. Do you happen to have driving assistance enabled in-game? It almost sounds like the game is slowing down and steering for you which could be explained by driving assistance.

 

No, there is only ABS turned on. Everything else is off (traction control, stability control and steering set to simulation)

Problem is the game is NOT steering. the car is driving directly into a wall. turning on steering assistance tends to help a bit since it is trying to get the car around the corner
