Forza Horizon 2 Vs. Forza Motorsport 5

Hi Everyone,

I got both Forza horizon 2 and Forza Motorsport 5

Need your help deciding in keeping either one.

I am not very interested in Racing games, however both of these claim to showcase the sheer awesomeness of the XBOX one console so i got them both with the intention of returning one of them.

My major requirement is - Splitscreen racing offline (Only available on Motorsport 5. This is something i definitely want, however i understand its limited in what cars your guest can pick or rent). This made the decision rather simple - And i zeroed in on
Motorsport 5

But Now i am reading a lot about how Horizon 2 is superior visually to Motorsport 5 (Dynamic Day/Night/Rain elements) and I am wondering if there is really any major difference for someone who is likely not to engage in a lot of the racing.

So i would like to know:

1. Will splitscreen offline racing ever make it to Horizon 2(From what i have read so far this will never happen)

2. How limited is the car selection/gameplay on Splitscreen in Motorsport 5?

3. Should I keep both games? i got them both at 40% off.

What does it feel like to play on Dedicated Servers?

Forza Horizon 2

Forza Motorsport 5

XBOX at E3 2015.

Windows 10 information would be great. I am dying to know when we can expect it to transition to Xbox One and Phones.

And Forza Motorsports 6 is no doubt releasing at the end of the year.

I have 1 worry now regarding Forza... I hope this is not a release pattern now. Forza Motorsports 4 2011, Forza Horizon 2012 Forza Motorsports 5 2013, Forza Horizon 2 2014, Forza Motorsports 6 2015, Forza Horizon 3 2016, Forza Motorsports 7 2017.... and
so on.

But it already look like that is how it is going to be.

 

i disliked forza 4.5 due to it being a cut down version of 4.

FH2 though is incredible - the opening scene is just jaw dropping

 

If only you could watch it again...

 

Two very different games. At 40% off I'd definately keep both. Its unfortunate about the lack of splitscreen as many people ( myself included ) like to play together in the same room. I have both and really enjoy them. But I love racing games. Good luck
in making a decision.

 

Like mentioned before, the two games are completely different, I would keep both, since they both offer a different experience.

Just be aware that FM5 is almost 1 year old that's why FH2 is superior graphics wise.

I highly doubt splitscreen will be available in FH2.

As far as I know the Guest can rent all cars, this was added later via an update.

 

As above I would personally keep both.

I love my racing games but honestly wouldn't compare the two, completely different styles of racing game.

 

I enjoyed Forza 5 briefly. A very Meticulous game. Which is a good thing, but some users may find it to be overwhelming.

But Forza Horizon 2, I can not stop playing. It is great. Open world Italia and France, and go where you want, race what you want, when you want. And racing online is a blast. I prefer FH2, and would recommend it to non racing fans.

Keep FH2

 

I personally prefer FM5. It has a more controlled environment.

 

Forza Horizon 2 is the better and more fun game.

 

Well, what style of racing do you like? If it's only set tracks stick with 5. If you like the off road style then H2. Both are great games but as far as car details go F5 is better in my opinion.

 

If it makes a difference to you (although I urge you not to base your decision on this), Forza Motorsport 5 is closed-course and runs at a 1080p, locked 60fps with no anti-aliasing (causing slight shimmer in post-game cutscenes). Forza Horizon 2, meanwhile,
runs at a 1080p, locked (and low latency, though still heavier than FM5) 30fps, which is smoothed by motion blur, and uses 4x Multisampling Anti-Aliasing (ultra smooth image).

FM5 has closed, and many real, courses. However, FH2 has some gorgeous vistas and most of it is driveable due to the open world. It also has brilliant weather effects which change the game visually and gameplay wise, and has a lot more content (although
about the same number of cars). FH2 has 700 events and so it is safe to say you will be covering the same ground a lot less. However, the handling is more forgiving that FM5.

In summary, if you want a game you can sink hours into and a tech showcase, keep FH2. If you want a pretty, smooth, and tech obsessed (tuning being important) sim, keep FM5. Ideally, keep both as they fill different roles.

 

I love Forza Horizon 2 more, music tracks, graphics look like the game was made in 2240 instead of 2014. It's the only driving game ever made on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 which has the bestest graphics for a driving game. Even better than Forza 5 and NFS Rivals
on Xbox 1 yes I have those games too. Day AND Night driving super large clubs free roam. It also has very similar ideas to Test Drive Unlimited 2 on 360, only way better graphics. The graphics look soooo good when your driving it looks like your doing so in
real life.

What I love in Forza 5 and Forza 4 is the multiplayer PlAyGrOuNd playlists like Virus Tag. You get to ram other vehicles everyone does it you do get the ocassional few middle aged peps who come in and moan at us though. It's part of the objective of the
game so it's purely allowed. I also like the play soccer with your car multiplayer playlist in Forza 4. Not sure if 5 has it, as I play way more on Xbox 360 since 90 of my friends don't have an X1 and it gets lonely playing on X1 by myself just like when I
first joined Xbox late 2010 but made friends soon after that. And I still prefer the 360 UI many of my friends don't like the windows 8 UI on 1, and it's missing XBL features Voice Messaging and change the Dash background.
