Forza 6 announced!!!

Ummm, How? Storm Isl is a DLC expansion just like Destiny has. Car packs are a option just like armor / weapons or skins in other games. How does Forza look to get you to pay for the game more than twice but no other game seems to?

Again I don't know what/if any benefits DX12 will bring to the table but talking of Forza ...

When Forza 6 was announced not so long back I remember reading some tweets the next day, I think it was even posted on here that ...

"Forza 6 was rumoured to be the first/first party game to use DX12 on Xbox One" ..

I know E3 is suppose to be the place where we will see gameplay footage of Forza 6, hear more information about it but I wonder if it will use DX12?

 

Just because someone doesn't think the same as you doesn't mean that they personally dislike you.

Just because they say something different to what you think doesn't mean they are having a pesonal go at you either.

If you felt so wounded by what I said about "Forza" then maybe I have a point.

Too many games are trying to short change us on content.

The only full game you can get on the XBox ONE is probably "Plants vs Zombies" where all the DLC, including extra characters, new game modes and expansions are simply made available to those who own the game at no extra cost.

If "Forza" wasn't charging extra for the stuff you used to get as part of the full game Last Gen then I wouldn't be as critical of their attempts to charge people this gen.

If the series that built itself as a Driving Sim that took pride in it's attention to detail catered to a wider fanbase instead of the way it's simplified itself to increase accessibility then I would be more excited about this new release.

There's still time for the game to suprise us though.

 

"Too many games are trying to short change us on content" But you dont think Destiny is doing that by releasing over priced disc locked DLC that adds nothing really new and by the time the next "expansion" comes out its the price of the full game for both
"expansions" at £40 or a season pass for £34.99. Um ok then.......

Not as much as "Forza" though.

They strip away content that they gave you as part of the game in the last gen version of the game and ask you to pay more for it while simplifying the overall experience at the cost of depth.

If you don't like "Destiny" fair play to you for knowing what you like. If we all liked the same thing the world would be a boring place and you'd have nothing to complain about on the Forums.

But we're talking about "Forza", a franchise that used to be great once upon a time and hopefully can be once again.

 

Actually it was you who started complaining about Forza and DLC. I merely highiighted your absolute hypocrisy.

 

I still obviously from my own point of view don't understand why people complain about DLC, we are not forced to buy it. Those who enjoy whatever game and the DLC adds to it then go for it, well I'm personally happy to.

As for Forza 5 and lack of content on release. I still firmly believe that these new gen consoles were originally only meant to be released in 2014 but neither company wanted the other to get too much of a head start and as a result quite a few games were
rushed to get them out on launch.

End of the day though for those who complain about Forza 5 and lack of day one content, then why did you buy it? there was enough info out before launch on what we were getting, if you went in without doing your research ( and I'm not having a go ) then
there's really only one person to blame.

Again though, DLC, Season Passes etc, I personally have no problem with it as I do have a choice.

 

I'd rather have the game than the choice to buy it in pieces.

But hey, different strokes for different folks.

As I keep saying, the game still has the potential to suprise us.

What did they strip away? You still paid for cars with 4 and Horizon. The had car packs back then as well. Here they have given 3 free tracks plus a few cars. You have add on DLC for Horizon 2 you can buy. Just like DLC for other games. What is it they took
away?

 

Pardon the interruption but I just wanted to point out that that development cost have risen over the years not to mention money spent on production and marketing. More often than not the point at which a company breaks even on a game is well above the the
cost of development alone. While I don't like it I'd have to say that they are justified in charging for content. After the corporates take their slice the people who actually build the game need to get paid too. These people spend years making a game. They
have families too. If you look at the credits roll at the end of a game its easy to see that many games have more people working on them than many big budget movies. I remember when games where developed by small teams and took less than s year to make. They
weren't advertised and where just put on shelves. The industry has come a long way since then but the flip side is we have to pay the price if we want these games to continue being developed. Lofty has a good point in that value is in the eye of the beholder.
If you don't like a game then don't spend money on the content. Whether its Forza, Destiny, or whatever. But plenty of other people will. It may be because I'm old but when I make a purchase I try to think about and remember all the people who've worked hard
to give me so much enjoyment over the years. On the other hand thats also why I've become quite picky over the years about what games I'll spend money on period never mind all the dlc. Point is only spend money if you feel it worthy. I've seen this in other
threads where people where saying they would rather pay 80$ for a full game than 60$ for a game and another 20$ for dlc. I say what's the difference?

Check out the tracks for "Forza 5" and compare them to "Forza 4".

 

The never left them out. They said that there were not as many before the game came out. I guess if they just keep giving you the same stuff year after year then COD ought to have 100 + maps on MP now huh?

 

I kinda agree with Az there. Even if certain tracks were gonna be not included I think every iteration of the game should at least have a close to equivalent number of tracks. It does feel like a drastic difference. To be honest I could do without the car
packs. Give me track packs instead.

 

Take it with a pinch of salt at the moment but I've seen a few tweets over the last few days where a few sites have said there is word that being this is the 10th anniversary of the Forza series, Forza 6 will include every track that's been in a Forza game
+ totally new ones.

Trouble is though, no matter how many or few tracks there are you will never please everyone. Now even with Forza 5 from day one having fewer tracks that previous titles I've spent more time on it than any other game in the series so far because I was lucky
that it already had quite a few of my favourite tracks in from the start so for me it was a case of quality rather than quantity.

As for cars, no doubt Forza 6 will have bucket loads again but even until today I bet I haven't driven half of the cars that are in Forza 5 so not worried here about numbers.

I've said before, this will be another day one buy regardless, Turn 10 haven't let me down yet but if they can just make the career a little more interesting, add day and night cycles, random weather then I shall not complain
