Forza 5 - update 2/7/14 - now doesn't work without a gold subscription.

I've been playing Forza 5 for about a week now. This morning it said it needed to update - so I did. Now it says I can't play without a gold subscription ... I used a download code for Forza - can I delete the game and reinstall it with the same code? Anyone
else having this problem? When I start the game it goes the the menu screen - the league screen is bordered red - but I can't use the controller to chose anything else - I can't even play split screen with the kids anymore... Very disappointed and frustrated!
Any ideas who to contact for help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try a full shut down holding the power button down till it turns off.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'd tried that - in the end I think it was the batteries in the controller... The controller still worked in Fifa 14 and everywhere else - just not in Forza 5! I've tried it out since as we have two controllers and when the batteries
run low in one I can switch to the other and it's fine - I can't do anything in Forza (with partially flat batteries) - but can in other games ... it seems that it just happened to coincide with a message that I had to upgrade to Gold to use the game ... odd,
but I'm really glad to be able to play again!!!

Just when you thought it was safe to go into the water and play the Mahjong daily challenges - 5 consecutive days (2/10-2/14) of normalcy; the spinning tiles make a return appearance today (2/15) on 2 of the daily challenges. Whatup!? What makes 2/1,2/2,2/5
& 2/10-2/14 daily challenges so special that you can actually play every challenge without issue. And the tip for manually loading a Mahjong update doesn't work for me - other app updates are listed but Mahjong isn't.

That is not an official Microsoft website. 2 day, 7 day, and 14 day cards are given as trial subscription with games and consoles. They are not full gold subscriptions. They only give you access to some benefits of online multiplayer, not all of the gold
benefits.

Doesn't mean, that Microsoft is charging more than their one off, 12 or 14 month (12+2 Months) Gold Subscriptions..
